Lovely setting, very good food.

Pre Dorset Playhouse dinner the other night was very satisfying. The menu was varied and creative. Classics like turkey croquettes (a mini Thanksgiving dinner in itself) as well as current preparations like stuffed portobello were all enjoyed by our group. Pre Dorset Playhouse dinner the other night was very satisfying. The menu was varied and creative. Service was very good and we weren't rushed nor had to wait during a nice even pace. There was one... More

On Monday, we dined at the Barrows House, just down the street and under the same management. On Wednesday, twenty-five of us gathered for a pre-theater dinner at the Inn. With help from Colleen, who both coordinates groups and fills in wherever she is needed, the Dorset Inn gave a great accounting of itself. We had our own private dining... More

Just like a Norman Rockwell picture. Beautiful place, great food and friendly people. Dorset is a sweet town with so much character. The food here is special in taste and presentation. A place to relax and go back to a kinder time.

3 of us visitors walked over and sat at the bar and had a fun time with Patrick. I had the mussels and the pasta special. The food was splendid. The setting is a perfect Vermont inn. The woman server in the room sparkled and remembers all of her orders without writing.

Excellent dinner in a historic inn, beautiful dining room. Good menu choices, excellent service. Also had breakfast here while staying at nearby Barrows House, itself a historic and scenic place to stay.

We enjoyed a very relaxing dinner last Monday at the Dorset Inn in Dorset,Vt-a easy 10' drive from Manchester Center on historic route 30.We have been staying at the Inn at Manchester for the past five years and always have dinner one night at the Dorset Inn.We were joined by my wife's sister and her husband-first time visitors to the... What can I say? If you are a regular, drive a Maserati, and are rich, the wait staff and bartenders treat you like gold. If you are just a regular guy, you'll get ignored. Save your hard earned dinner money and try the other wonderful restaurants in town and adjoining Manchester. Dinners are overpriced, as are the rooms. This place... More

This made our last evening in Vermont exceptional. Beautiful decor. Excellent waitress and phenomenal food! We got the fried chicken, which truly was the best we've ever had! The vegetables were done to perfection. Truly, these folks are culinary experts! The only downside is it is very expensive, but it was worth it.

I shared the beet and goat cheese salad with my sister. Then I had the baked haddock while she chose the turkey croquettes. Both meals as well as the salad could have been photographed for a gourmet food magazine. Even better, they tasted great. Fresh. Fresh. Fresh. I don't think I ever ever tasted new spring peas as god as... More

My husband and I really enjoyed our dinner in the Tavern of Dorset Inn. Our waitress, Nonie (sp?) is fabulous. She has been there long time. Great at recommending dishes and she friendly too. Love the atmosphere at Dorset Inn and have eaten here many times. Food is delicious. Thanks Dorset Inn; we will be back.
