Worth the wait

We went to pick up a quick bite to eat and a cup of coffee before our drive home. There was a small line upon arrival. Service was on the slower side, staff didn't show a sense of urgency. Which is perfectly fine, our chai latte and cappuccino came out great. I also had the cinnamon pear muffin... read more

We happened upon this charming/funky cafe last weekend while travelling from VT to MA. What a find ! Delicious food, interesting menu, with made from scratch, often organic, and gluten-free if need be, ingredients. We had the soup/sandwich combo, topped off by a most scrumptious chocolate chip cookie that seemed downright healthy, as cookies go ! Tables are tucked among... More

We stopped here for a quick bite to eat on our way to Ludlow, VT after reading the great reviews on Trip Advisor. The food was outstanding - we each had a cup of the special soup of the day - Potato, Ham and Cheese soup and it was outstanding - large chunks of ham and potatoes in a creamy... More

My wife visited this little gem during Christmas week. My wife and I enjoyed a tuna melt and a turkey breast sandwich. Both were very delicious and the atmosphere was very pleasant. Next time we are in town, we will definitely visit again.

This was a fun little find. It's a cool hippie spot that serves great sandwiches, smoothies and coffee, but also sells basics like milk, soap and other essentials. The greatest discovery was the play place for kids upstairs! It costs $5 per family to use and there is also a small children's consignment. Really cool spot!

A few months ago my wife and I moved to Springfield VT. We quickly found that Springfield has no good healthy food and moderately priced cafes or restaurants. However, only a few miles from us is Moon Dog Cafe in Chester. This is one of the very best cafes we've dined at and we've lived all over the country and... More

We had some sandwiches here and they were amazing! Generous servings and delicious! They have all kinds of different items, clothes, cards, wonderful pastries and a lovely little area to eat.

Recently went to the Moon Dog Cafe for breakfast. It was absolutely second to none. Wonderful eggs, divine apple compote and to die-for ginger scones. An absolute must for breakfast, lunch or a delicious snack!

Everything about Moon Dog is amazing. Start with the atmosphere, which is pure Vermont hippie, with a dash of Zen Buddhism. Owner is extremely cool; workers are friendly. Eclectic items for sale. The hot maple (frothed milk and maple syrup) is YUMMY. The food is tops. This place makes me wish I lived nearby, and not in Connecticut. I would... More

This is kind of what we stalked in the day, a hippy place. Of course in Chester it might just fit right in. I had a great apple and ham wrap. Could not gave been better. My, always dieting wife opted for peppermint tea. Also good. This funky place situated between two jewels. The Inn Victoria and The Free Range.... More
