I live in jersey and when I have the chance to get to Chester Vermont I do. And I always stop at the Moon Dog Cafe. As a vegetarian I love the diverse and interesting selection. And yea on occasion I have gotten something to eat I easn't thrilled with, but I also always find something amazing. I love their... More

I live but 25 minutes away in NH, and had not visited for a number of years - those visits were with my late-wife and late-neighbor. Loved it then, and when asked today how my sandwich was I replied, "it was phenomenal !!" Often I am out and about in Vermont touring in one of my old sports cars, and... More

The blueberry pie is to write home about. Other pastries are also excellent. Sandwiches and soup are very good. I had a ham and bean soup that was chock full of vegetables and excellent. The regular coffee was not great but if I went a third time, I would order an espresso drink. Service during the week is better than... More

In reading other reviews, I see that I am out of step. But I must express my experience. Four of us had lunch this week. Good food. Lots of insects flying about. Waiter sweating profusely as he served us. I'm easy on these establishments, but I did not have a good feel about hygiene...and animal life.

We were traveling across Vermont and wanted a healthy sandwich for lunch. We found Moon Dog cafe right on Route 11. We went in and placed our order for a Vegetarian wrap. It had guacamole, cream cheese, lettuces, tomatoes etc in a whole wheat wrap. We sat outside and they brought out our sandwich. It was delicious. Hit the spot.... More

Been meaning to stop there for years . . . right out of 1968 (full disclosure . . . my era). Had no idea what to expect, had the veg wrap (garlic cream cheese, tomato, avocado, cucumber (?), greens). Delicious. Didn't know it was exactly what I wanted when I came in! Very friendly waitress, great blueberry muffins (I took... More

I loved this place. It's a neat sort of hippy kind of place. The coffee was hot and good, the gluten free macaroon was moist and delicious and the service was super friendly. I enjoyed talking with the two women there and looking around the shop. A must visit place!!

Organic food, hippie/yoga atmosphere, and coffee. The service was slow and a bit indifferent and I'm usually skeptical of places that don't serve soda, but we had fun and our hummus sandwiches were good. Our daughter had the PB&J but it was a bit too messy for a kid since it was the gooey fresh peanut butter. Also, the high... More

We recently spent the weekend in Vermont. On Saturday, we found Moon Dog Cafe and stopped by for coffee. My husband had a regular coffee and I had a decaf maple latte. We split a cherry almond muffin. All were extremely yummy! The place is comfortable and the service very friendly. We enjoyed it so much that we went out... More
