Moon Dog Cafe is a weird little cafe/bakery/gift shop hybrid. It's fun to look around. The menu is quite large, mostly full of sandwiches and baked goods. The coffee drinks are very good. My only complaint is that every time I have been there they are ALWAYS out of something I want. Last time it was bagels. The time before... More

I came up to Chester, VT to visit with my Aunt Katrina and Uncle Mark and hit the slopes. They took me and my girlfriend to Moon Dog cafe for breakfast on Sunday, and I was blown away. Not to sound pretentious, but we go out to brunch in Boston pretty much every weekend. We have been to some of... More

An excellent menu and friendly attentive service make this a great stop for any meal of the day. Lunch was very good. I had the breakfast bomb sandwich which was homemade chunks of bread sandwiching cheese, egg, bacon, and a pile of home fries which is unequaled in my experience. Great coffee. You will not leave hungry but bring a... More

We enjoyed a wonderful home made bowl of tortilla soup and hot chocolate. The hot chocolate was made in front of us with real chocolate bits and milk. The soup was chock full of vegetables, spicy, and topped with melted cheese on fresh tortilla chips. In this lovely cafe.inside the cafe there was a very relaxed atmosphere, with items for sale,if... More

We stumbled into Moon Dog while driving around the area, I was immediately impressed with the décor- homespun, earthy, welcoming. There was a table in the window and vintage drawers running along the wall displaying knits, teas, soaps. On the other side a selection of groceries, and nestled towards the back a coffee and smoothie bar. What a treasure! We... More

I just had the nicest lunch with my mother at the Moon Dog Cafe. The soup was HOT in the best way, the tuna was perfectly prepared loaded with crunchy fresh veggies and herbs and the melt was very wisely on thinly sliced bread that was easily cut with a knife and fork. In many places, the open faced melt... More

This place used to be an old country store and still retains that 'old timey' feeling. And you can still get a lot of items under one roof, including gifts, health food, skin products and clothing. From the cafe: salads and soups to cookie desserts, it was hard to choose from the great selection. Settled on a new salad with... More

Yes it's me again, back in the States and visiting with friends in Vermont. During my visits I return to the Moon Dog Cafe, On The Green in Chester. Although we have to travel from Weathersfield I still see this venue as my place of choice for a snack, meal or just a relaxing coffee - great comfort/ambience.... Recommend.. The... More
