Delicious healthy lunch options, a little crammed

This place was a little gem in Burlington. Lunch options were healthy and different from the everyday choices. The hot salad bar was delicious with great variety and extremely fresh. Stews, casseroles, salads, and the like. Great food! The place was hopping, so space and seating were limited and a little compact, but definitely worth the stop. Would go back... More

Can be hard at times to get a table during peak hours. Fair amount of vegan options. Soups are delicious but they run out of soup at times so be sure to arrive before the mid-late afternoon. Sandwiches are really tasty as are the muffins, scones and cookies. The homemade bread isn't anything special but its mediocrity doesn't take away... More

My only complaint about lunch at Stone Soup is the price one has to pay. My wife and I each has a very modest plate of food and the charge came to $26. It's not that the plate left me hungry, but I could have eaten more. Just a bit too spendy for a buffet lunch. However, on the positive... More

Every year, my wife and I visit Vermont, and no trip there is complete without stopping in Burlington for lunch. Our restaurant of choice - Stone Soup. The food is fabulous - the vegetarian and vegan varieties are amazing. Entrees are always fresh and hot and you get to choose how much of each you want, as this is self... More

Great food and very attentive staff. Draft beer was nice and cold which is always a plus. Would recommend to anyone who likes good food and good beer

I came back with my wife after an enjoyable meal several months ago. This time we shared a turkey Reuben sandwich. It was not very good. The turkey was not sliced thin, but we're big chunks of turkey. Very little dressing and sauerkraut...in other words...not very good. The wine was okay. The prices seemed to have doubled since my first... More

Terrific spot for lunch - easy place to eat healthy and please lots of palates while on a road trip through town. Really fresh salad bar plus lots of vegetarian and vegan. Brown bread serve with soup was phenomenal and they happily accommodated a special sandwich request to please one of our picky kids.

Stone Soup is a quaint restaurant with delicious, fresh food! In the summer the front wall opens with lovely hanging flower baskets adorning this establishment's storefront. We stop at Stone Soup every time we visit Burlington, & we have never been disappointed in the quality or selection of food. The veggies sandwich is great, & the hot food bar always... More

Very good food, when you just want something easy and simple. Choice of sandwiches, pizzas and salads and warm foods that you could mix yourself and pay for the amount you help yourself with. I also like the view in to the kitchen were you see the food being made. Staff was also nice and polite. Liked the place a... More

We asked a local shop worker for a veggie restaurant recommendation, and she pointed us toward Stone Soup. We're glad she did, cause we LOVED it! Loads of choices - from the hot bar to quiche, salads and sandwiches and delicious looking desserts. The salad greens were incredibly fresh and tasty and my quiche was mouthwatering. Give this a try... More
