American Flatbread is an unassuming establishment, an intimate brick-walled pizzeria that serves eight house (low gravity) beers - along with several guest beers, many being Vermont craft brews. There is an impressive selection of international beers in bottles. Once inside this interesting looking building is a small bar on the right, beyond which is an old-fashioned wood stove (the smell... more

Spent this past weekend in Burlington. My girlfriend and I made our way around to the various pubs and hot spots. This place was by far the best. Excellent beers on tap and a very large selection by the bottle. Even had our local brewery's seasonal beer on cask. Didn't eat, but the pizza looked great. Big crowd, so the... more

Burlington would like to think its a leader in leading edge cuisine, but only a few restaurants such as American Flatbread can make that case. We had to wait about 45 minutes for a table but it was worth it. They brew their beer and have 8 or 10 varieties than can be sampled by the 1/2 glass. They were... more

We know American Flatbread from their Portsmouth NH location, so stopped here on a busy Friday night. The menu is different from Portsmouth, so it looks like they give their locations a lot of latitude in the menu. The big surprise was the beer selection. With over 20 beers on draft and probably another 80 or so in bottles, the... more

We had a table near the brick oven and thoroughly enjoyed watching the whole pizza making process! The pizza was absolutely delicious - had half with the nightly special that was sort of like a chicken alfredo and mushroom topping - the other half more traditional red sauce and pepperoni. The place was filled with both locals and tourists, all... more

If you are in Burlington, you must go to American Flatbread. You will have to wait, but it is worth the time. We waited about 45 minutes, hung around in the bar, drank the local brew (also very good) and then we were seated. Could possibly be the best pizza we have ever had. Waitstaff were friendly and prompt. Interesting... more

I ate at the American Flatbread in Burlington for the first time last winter and it was just as good as their other locations. Great service, too, even though it was packed while we were there. The only thing I would add is that nothing beats the ambience of their original location in the Mad River Valley, where I eat... more

Went on a Sunday night during our trip to Burlington. It was fairly early and we were seated immediately, close by the brick oven where we could see the flatbreads being made. That made for some good viewing watching the teamwork, from one person making the crust, the next putting the ingredients on, the next cooking it in the oven,... more
