Called into Penny Cluse Cafe for a late lunch, after Dad had spotted good reviews for it. We certainly weren't disappointed. Really friendly guy, who served us, pointed out the daily specials. I went for a special of swiss chard pie, with Shelburne farms cheese sauce served with dill pickles, red cabbage slaw and a beetroot and sweet chili sauce.... More

This is one of the local's favorite eateries which can, at times, be very crowded. My husband and I were very fortunate to be seated for breakfast immediately. Excellent choices, very attentive service and delicious food.

Excellent breakfast! Quality local food, excellent service, good java! Prob a little pricey for breakfast but most restaurants in Burlington seemed to lean that way. I had 3 egg omelet, you ad a la carte for each item which jacked up the price but it was worth it. We would go back even with the little wait time around 1030ish.... More

I heard this was the best breakfast in Burlington. As is the rule, rarely does a restaurant stand up to lofty expectations. I ordered the French toast special and it was ok, not great. The coffee was good. Next time I will branch out a bit more and I am sure it will be satisfying, stay tuned.

The Penny Cluse Cafe was recommended for breakfast by the front desk clerk at our hotel. It is a unique place, with unusual art throughout and unique breakfast items on the menu. There aren't many tables in the restaurant, which meant our having to sit at the counter, even after waiting for about 20 minutes. The service was good, as... More

A wonderful local breakfast restaurant. Great food, good service and reasonable prices for what you get!. Is it very busy, so you might have to wait, but it is worth the time in line! This is a major Burlington favorite.

Penny Cluse is a favorite. Everything is excellent (I love the house-smoked salmon) and done with flair. I live in Burlington and am a total believer in this place. Only problem: It is so good that it can be hard to get a table. Suggestion: Weekdays better than weekends for access. But whenever you go, it is worth the wait!

I decided to go to Penny Clause for breakfast on my 35th birthday. I was feeling a little depressed and needed a pick me up. I walked there around 8 am and was seated by the window which had a lovely view of the street. I ordered the scrambled egg tacos with andouille sausage plate with a side of home... More

Although I was unable to eat as I am a strict Vegan and our server who had recently moved to Vermont and was new to the restaurant was unfamiliar with what a Vegan is and was unable to offer me any options so I chose to have a glass of champagne while my husband ate. We arrived at 2:45 and... More
