This was the spot that I always took visitors for breakfast when I was at the University of Vermont. Great home-made granola. Yum!

Penny Cluse has literally shattered all my expectations for breakfast forever. We ordered the breakfast burrito, the breakfast tacos, and zucchini bread french toast. I just wish we had ordered more, even though we were so full when we left we could barely move. Every bite and ingredient is fresh beyond words - every plate that came out looked better... More

This is a terrific restaurant. We went for breakfast. It is a very short walk up the street from the Marriott by the water. There was a wait for a table for two, but were able to sit right away at the breakfast bar. Menu is extensive. Portions are large. Staff is friendly. Deco is eclectic. Homemade corn muffins are... Had a perfect breakfast this morning. The feta omlet was good. Whole wheat toast is the high end stuff. The waitresses keep the coffee coming. Next time that I am in town I will try their lunch.

Pennys was reccomended by bartender at hotel. We were very pleased with our visit. Penny's is located on a corner with windows all around the restaurant. Which is great for people watching while you wait for your food. My biscuits and veg gravy were outstanding my friends french toazt with blueberrys was also excelant. Service is friendly and quick. A good friend who is also exploring new places in northern Vermont recommended this restaurant. The food and service were very good, as was the range of menu choices and specials. The drawback, which I hope does not exist outside prime tourist season and school vacations, was the noise. The floors are wood and there is nothing to deaden sound.... More

Everything is fresh and delicious, although it tends to be a long wait for breakfast on the weekends.

I used to have Sunday brunch in this cosy place while I studied abroad at UVM. The food is fresh, tasty and the service is great. It's downtown Burlington and the location is really nice. I miss it!

stopped in for breakfast. of course it offers the traditional breakfast plates, but also has items not seen everywhere. i tried all three of the pancake choices and found the gingerbread to be the best. they even offer the recipe on their webpage. how friendly and convenient is that? good choice for breakfast and the staff were all working together... I had the cornbread French toast with rhubarb compote, butter, Vermont maple syrup, egg over easy, and applewood bacon, with Cranberry juice and coffee. Excellent. I probably don't need to say much more.
