Cool Asian in Burlington

Good flavor profiles very efficient staff a bit austere in the interiors no music the dumplings and buns were fantastic Szechwan Duck special was great a bit expensive for decent Chinese food in New York the same meal would be 25% less in an upscale location

This restaurant is easy to miss since it is not on Church Street and it looks like a home. However, once inside you'll realize it was worth getting off the beaten path. Specializing in Asian fusion, the menu has a good mix of meat, seafood and vegetarian options. The food is served family style on a center lazy Susan. Bring... More

A Single Pebble serves, perhaps, the best food in the Burlington area. You have to try the mock eel--and for those who are vegetarian, many of the other faux-meat dishes are excellent. Always a good idea to opt for at least one of the evening's specials.

Make a reservation. Always. We've shown up at 5pm and been told there is no room. This place is very popular and very busy. Easy to see why. Each dish is cooked to order, and dishes come out of the kitchen as they are cooked, so they don't all come at once. The double garlic broccoli is something we always... More

We didn't get past the hostess, who rudely, and repeatedly said we would have to wait for a table. No graciousness, no civility. Snooty, obnoxious and offensive. We would have been willing to wait the 1 hour 15 minutes for a table if she had done more than turn her nose up at us (2 well-dressed men in their 60's)... More

I love this restaurant every time I go. I can't name one thing on the menu that I haven't enjoyed, but especially love the Mock Eel and the Scallops. Also, tried the Thai soup this time which was wonderful. We recently came here for a birthday party with about 25 of us. We had to choose our items in advance... More

We are locals who have dined here at A Single Pebble three times over the past 15 years. It made a big splash on the dining scene when it first opened, offering innovative Chinese cuisine by an American chef who had learned the art in China. I am not sure if this is the true story, but that's how I... More

We have a lot of family dinners here. The mock eel is a family favorite but everything is exquisite.

Went for their wine dinner with David O'Reilly, winemaker from Owen Roe. All the food was good as usual. The wines were very good as expected. The pairing was a disappointment. The chef did not seem to care about how to pair the foods with the wines and just served whatever. Good food and drink just not a real pairing... More

Usually the server is very helpful helping to decide how much to order for the table size, but not this time. All she kept saying is "I couldn't say" or "I have no idea". Really? because the other servers knew and were very good at assisting. The food was still good but seemed to be much more greasy than usual.... More
