We stopped in Muddy Waters to pick up some coffee. The drinks were very good. My iced latte had a good flavor and was blended just right. The atmosphere in the cafe was unique and perhaps a bit odd. It was also quite dark, so we took our drinks to go. Service was a bit slow, and the barista wasn't... More

Came in with a friend expecting a laid back coffee shop where I could do some work. Was ignored at the counter for several minutes before being nonchalantly greeted. I ordered juice and zucchini bread and planned to get coffee once I settled into work. My juice came out in a spotty glass at room temp, not too appetizing. It... More

Definitely a great place to get together with friends for a cup of coffee. There is a fair amount of seating, but it tends to get crowded, especially on weekends. They have a variety of pastries and bagels that are also available. Their coffee selection is fairly standard, but definitely flavorful.

If you like independent coffee shops, then you will adore this one. Its decorated artistically and its fun! You can sip a coffee by yourself or have a group of people. I have tried their coffee, smoothies and teas - and everything is amazing. I love to bring a book in here and just sit, sip and people watch. My... More

Great coffee! Tried a blueberry scone which was also very good. The cafe has a nice, rustic interior too. We only had takeout.

As local cafes go, Muddy Waters is the best. There is a huge back room where I think most people at the tables are meeting over coffee discussing work and college papers aided by the open internet. The coffee and food are both excellent and reasonably priced. A local favorite.

I stumbled across this coffee shop last weekend while visiting Burlington. I immediately fell in love with it. The atmosphere is inviting and warm. The food was impressive as well. I ordered coffee, fresh organic juice, and a bagel. I would recommend this place for anyone visiting Burlington.

The coffee and pastries here are pretty good. I like the laid-back atmosphere. And naturally, they tend to place awesome music (with a name like Muddy Waters, it would be a travesty if they didn't).

The coffee is great, but you can get pretty decent coffee a bunch of places, what sets Muddy Waters apart is the atmosphere and the other drinks. In the summer their milkshakes are incredible, in the winter there's nothing better than their hot alcoholic beverages. Muddy Waters has the best atmosphere of any coffee shop I've been to in Vermont,... More

We love the smoothies and the food at Muddy Waters (although there is not much for people with food allergies). It's a comfortable environment and people like to sit there with friends and/or work. The one problem I have is that because people stay there for so long it is not always easy to find a place to sit. And,... More
