Four of us decided to eat here after reading the reviews while visiting Burlington, and were disappointed to say it was nothing special. The waitress (owner?) had trouble understanding our order and made several mistakes which ended up costing us a bit extra, but if it had been good food, it would have been worth it. AS it was, it... Wednesday or Thursday are all you can eat buffet nights for $15. The owner was very friendly and helpful. I tried all of the dishes that she put out 4 vegetarian and 4 with meat. The vegetarian ones in general were great. The meat dishes were all good too but I'd say they would be better when ordered fresh. The... More

After seeing this advertised in a magazine, we decided to try it one day while shopping in Burlington. We had lunch there one week day. Very few other people in the place, but the owner was very helpful and made several suggestions for us to try. We were familiar with middle eastern food and everything we had was very good.

We were looking for other cuisines in Burlington, VT..and came across Farah's Place. Located away from the heaviliy traveled Church Street venues, Farah's offered a wonderful selection of Middle eastern (Persian) dishes that satisfied both the vegetarian and carnivore. We tried the hummus, dolme ,rice of the day,and the boneless chicken (served in ample portions). Farahs Place is a "hidden... More

Home cooking at its best. Personal, down-to-earth staff and chef serve you tasty dishes in a modest environment where you come to eat good food and enjoy a pleasant dinner with friends. Where else can you enjoy such a meal but in Burlington, Vermont's old north end.

Be adventurous and give it a try. The food is fresh and really tasty, the owner is friendly & helpful, a terrific value. Don't be turned away from the appearance or location. You will feel welcome and enjoy traditional middle eastern dishes. Try a sampling if you enjoy trying new dishes. We had a wonderful dinner and will definitely return.... More

Based on the reviews here, we decided to try this place. Unfortunately, the day we chose was a buffet night and it was abysmal. I would give this place another chance, since people who reviewed it and ate from the menu really seemed to like it. The buffet consisted of two kinds of rice, chopped salad, two okra dishes, falafel... More

This is a simple storefront in the north end of Burlington that you might think twice about entering. But do go in! The food is unlike the Lebanese type food most Americans think of as Middle-eastern. Farah's place has terrific Persian food at very reasonable prices. The chicken fesjean was a real treat with a sauce of ground walnuts and... More

My wife and I were in Burlington for the annual jazz festival and we decided to try this place for the first time. The food was delicious and it was unlike any other restaurant I have visited. The yogurt preparation called Must O'Khiar is especially tasty, and the baklava is wonderful. A dish with eggplant called Mirza Ghasemie has a... More

The burgundy tableclothed tables are arranged in a u-shape around an open, immaculate kitchen. The food is made fresh daily, falafel, shush kebabs, stews, soups, homemade baklava and much more. One can order a pot of brewed tea(or other beverages) to go with your meal. It is a homey, comfortable setting, and in the kitchen is Farah cooking away. The... More
