Meh, not the best traditional German

Well, the food there was ok, but nothing out of the ordinary. My Schnitzel was smothered in a sauce, and although it was tasty, it wasn't your super traditional german fare. The place was pretty dead when we went there, and the food still took quite some time to get to the table. We waited close to... read more

This was the first German restaurant I've ever been to and it was really good. First off, if you go on a Friday or Saturday night, call ahead and make reservations. My boyfriend and I found this place by walking around and had to wait about 10 minutes to be seated. When we were seated it was only because of... More

Das Bierhaus is a must every time we visit Burlington. The beer selection is great and innovative (grapefruit weizen). German dishes as tasty and authentic. Everything is handmade and delicious. Favorites included KÄSESPÄTZLE (you'll never want plain old Mac & cheese again), Dumplings and SCHNITZEL (incredibly tender and fabulous sauces).

This place has great beer. The selection is huge and they even have German beers that are difficult to get in Germany. The range is really fabulous. This establishment has three levels with an awesome rooftop biergarten. The waitresses (dressed in authentic dresses) are super. Smiling and eager to serve. Bathrooms are super clean with one on each of the... More

I don't know why I didn't go here sooner! The food was delicious German style food. The beer selection is great, try the Maibock. Start with a pretzel with cheese sauce (big enough for two) and a pint, try to get a seat on the roof, though the indoor seating is also nice. My son loved the pork schnitzel and... More

My husband and I had an early dinner here. Staff was attentive and the chef brought up our meals. My husband is half German and we've been to Germany many times so we have means for comparison. The wienerschnitzel was well prepared with a delicious gravy and side of Johannes berries, which i could eat by the spoonful. The knodeln... More

We stopped by here hoping to get some good authentic German food. I miss my mom's German cooking and REAL German food is hard to find. I had a Jagr Schnitzel with Red cabbage. The Schnitzel was delicious but the cabbage was not what I was expecting. It was still ok, just not what I grew up with. My wife... More

They made a great effort to make this an authentic German restaurant. Great German menu, beer selection and style. We had 7 in the party, so we tried a little of everything. You won't be disappointed. Definitely get the pretzel! PS We lucked out and went on Trivia Night. My party killed it. Went home with some trivia prizes!

Located on the south end of church street (beyond the 'pedestrian only' section), if the weather is nice, the rooftop garden is definitely worth a visit. They have a good beer selection (european and domestic) and a variety of sizes so you can try a few comfortably. We also had one of their soft pretzel (originally from Pennsylvania, I love... More
