Walked there during a small winter storm and was warmed by the soup. Try the Vermonter. It was a casual business lunch which I think is pretty typical for Vermont :)

It is a real serious bakery with equipment and tools visible behind the counter. Atmosphere is rough and rustic with brick walls, cement floor, high ceiling, and feels like a work place or a factory. Tables are placed around the walls and windows, and in between in the center. Those by the windows near the counter might be ok, but... More

If you like breads, this very warm and cozy joint is for you. They have other offerings if you are the other companion who does not eat bread, but this is strictly a bread specialty.

I love their soups, breads, granola and home made desserts! The crew is always so courteous and cheerful! Sandwiches and salads are great too and the bread is the best!!! I guess you could say I love all the food there!!!

Got pastries and granola, it was ok, very dry, nothing special. Wanted to get breakfast but we were 3 minutes late due to rain and not being able to find a parking spot and was told no. Wished we would have gone back to skinny pancake.

Friendly welcoming cafe. They bake on the premises at the back of the store. I love their cappuccino. The breads are awesome. Baguettes better than I foound in Paris. The scones are delicious as well as the Hungarian rolls. Sandwiches are made from just baked fresh bread. BLT with crispy thick bacon in a crusty baguette, yum yum. As you... More

Quite a quaint and unusual eatery with the best homemade pizza I have ever encountered. I didn't have opportunity to try anything else but I think this is a great place.

Centrally located between the waterfront and downtown, this is more than a coffee shop - and they're expanding! The coffee was weak that day (it's a new local roaster - not my style), but the pastries and egg sandwich more than made up for it! Reasonable priced quality ingredients. (We have started buying the multigrain bread for sandwiches at home.... More

This bakery cafe is off of the beaten path, which makes it a local favorite. I can not go there without seeing someone I know. The food is very good and fresh. Great Panini's, salads, baked goods. This restaurant is computer free (a little annoying, but I understand from a business standpoint) so don't expect to linger and work while... More

Stayed nearby for a bit and enjoyed the warmth and smell of fresh baked goods....love the Maple biscuit with a hot coffee for a quick breakfast... Great salads and even the grilled cheese made with Vermont cheddar are tasty... Homey local place that makes you feel good
