Went on a Friday evening, restaurant was pretty empty--usually not a good sign! Had the squash blossom appetizer they were delicious , and came out nice and hot! We both had the penne bolognese, was good, overall a nice meal, but many other nice restaurants would not rush back .

This was our second visit to L'amante and the menu pleased us as much as the first time - The bread they serve is the best country bread served w two spreads and olive oil if requested- You must try the squash blossom stuffed w taleggio cheese - drizzled with the local honey and splash of truffle oil! It is... More

Had dinner at L'amante with friends on a Saturday night. We were walking around Burlington with no idea where to go when a passerby recommended it to us. We got there early (6 pm) and it was fairly empty, but we decided to try it. Great service. Fantastic food (the sea bass was incredible) and very reasonably priced wine. Midway... More

Visited this area in the winter (during the school year) and it was impossible to get a reservation at this very cool restaurant! We ended up sitting at the bar the first visit in February and were lucky to just walk in during our recent visit. Had an amazing dinner and a bottle of wine. Everything was perfect and delicious... Stopped by with family for dinner. The squash blossom fritters are delightfully delicious - get yourself 2 orders. All four meals were very good - no leftovers at our table. Pleasant decor, attentive waitstaff.

Really good, reasonably priced, upscale Italian restaurant in Burlington. Had a wonderful diner there midweek. It was very full even tho it was a mid-July Wednesday night. Quality appetizers good, but not overwhelming entrees. Lobster special was outstanding. Shortcoming is that it is not lakeside. But, you trade a good view for superior food. Otherwise, when full it is very... More

We were in the mood for a "special dinner" at a "special" Restaurant after a long drive to Burlington. We found it when we looked in the window of L'Amante and came back for dinner later that evening. The nice, private corner table that we requested was waiting for us, along with an extremely charming and efficient server named Stephanie.... More

Very French bistro feeling, nice bar area, also has outdoor seating. All food selections are very large and great presentation. I would not order the duck again. First of all they indicate it will be 1/2 a duck. To me, that is not the same as two legs with thighs.

L'amante is a wonderful restaurant on College St. in downtown Burlington. The service is consistently great, the food is consistently good but their specials are fabulous. Personally, I like seafood and fish and my husband is more of a meat person but at L'amante they do both very well, no compromise needing when having dinner there.
