Outstanding

Ariels is the highlight of my Vermont visit and the place I look forward to eating at above all others. The chef is spectacular, Richard is a master with cocktails and wine and the atmosphere cozy and fun. I have never had a bad item in many, many visits. It's the best restaurant in Vermont and far... read more

we were looking forward to the visit based on other reviews only to find Richard who "knew" more about anything than we did - no matter what the topic. When asked for a recommendation he responded that his wife was a perfect cook and everything was wonderful - which didn't help us. The menu is small and unchanging. When asked... More

I'm so sorry your experience at Arie's was not as you wished or expected it to be. We hope you do give us another chance, but first I'd like to respond to some of your comments. First, our menu changes every 3-4 weeks, based on what seasonal product our local farmers bring in. I keep it to 6-8 small plates... More

The food was delicious and a bit over-priced. We were a bit early and had a drink at the bar served by the owner. I have rarely met a more pretentious, rude man in my life. He poured me a drink with bugs in it and then proceeded to tell me it would just happen again as he was pouring... More

I'm glad you liked my food, and very sorry that you were distressed by my husband's personality. Some find him amusing, some, not so much. I hope that you come back to Ariel's and try again. Thank you for your input More

While visiting family in VT, we were taken to Ariel's. There were four of us. We ordered Salmon, lamb, steak and vegetarian. Richard recommended the wine. Everyone of us claimed that our entre was best. Having just gotten back from a Regent Seven Seas cruise, where the food and service was incredibly good, we were surprised at our reaction to... More

The food was great, service was great, great find. In a very peaceful surrounding. If you are there in September when the trees are turning color be sure to drive along Stone RD. The view is fantastic.

Ariel's is SO good. The service is absolutely impeccable, the setting is lovely, and the food is truly stunning. We started with the goat cheese souffle (an amazing house specialty - don't skip it!) and a local corn and tomato salad. Both were delicious, and although the salad was simpler, the flavors were outstanding. For entrees, we had lamb and... More

I have never had a plate of food at Ariel's that I disliked. The place can be a little hard to get to with the floating bridge closed, but it is worth seeking out when you have a little extra time for a special dinner. Wonderful flavors, gracious hosts, and a village setting make this a real gem.

There's no highway exit for Pond Village, a dirt crossroads within the bowels of Brookfield, Vermont. You have to know how to get there, but it's well-worth the trip. Quaint, peaceful, and unpretentious, this sleepy village is known for its world famous Floating Bridge, a mighty span that saves you about a half-mile drive around tiny Sunset Lake. The bridge... My family and I dined here this past weekend. I ordered the local skate and it was perfectly prepared with lemon and capers. We started with their signature brussels sprouts, yummy. All of 4 of us enjoyed everything. Even the bread is excellent!

Found this gem while looking for a restaurant not too far from where we were staying in Randolph VT. The food was unbelievable and the service very attentive. Highly recommended if you are in the area (or even if you have to travel a bit to get there). Do make a reservation...there are only about eight tables, which makes it... More
