Great view of retreat meadow setback. Best food in town possibly. Many options. Even for vegetarians. Open seasonally.

From the amazing food to the quirky decor and great atmosphere this iz a stop along the road you must make. The baked beans are full of pieces of their delectable pulled pork, the cornbread is sumptuous, and the half chicken is delicious. The burnt ends wete a new addition this year and they are simply incredible! The owner and... More

This is awesome bbq, but don't expect cheap. They are Popular enough to charge more and they do. Try the fish tacos or the catfish.

Very disappointed... Expected a lot more considering it has the #1 rank in Brattleboro. Brisket sandwich had a lot of brisket but it was very dry and has no smoke flavor... This could have been hidden with some BBQ sauce but they only put on a minuscule amount... Also had the Mac and cheese... $7.95... I've had better M&C from... More

We had dinner at the Top of the Hill Grill while visiting family in the area. I love bbq; but, I wasn't impressed with this meal...nor was my husband. We both had pulled pork with baked beans and cole slaw. The pork was dry and the flavor was so so. I would guess that the beans came out of a... More

What a find! Read a recommendation in a travel book and went for lunch. We had smoked turkey breast, brisket, pulled pork plate and sandwich. All dishes were some of the best I have had; ranks right up there with barbecue in Ft. Worth. Beautiful view of the valley on a crisp fall day. Big portions at reasonable prices. The... More

So we were driving along and we noticed the large crowd at this roadside grill, and we just had to see what everyone was on line for. Well the pulled pork was out of this world delicious , and the baked beans were fantastic! The Mac and cheese was melt in your mouth delicious and it was made with Graften... More

I have been a fan of Top of the Hill for years. It has delicious food, a great scenic view of the West River, and friendly staff. This is a seasonal and casual place. Most of the seating is outside, with a small building with some indoor seating. Order and pay at the window, get a playing card, grab a... More

Last weekend we had dinner at Top of the Hill. It was a lot of fun. The food was excellent. The atmosphere very congenial. Very nice Fall view, as well. We had been meaning to try Top of the Hill, and I am so glad we did! We had fish, ribs, hamburger and all were delicious. When you are in... More
