Farbeit for this unlearned one to claim to be an expert in how Burnt Ends should taste... If these succulent morsels of melt in your mouth goodness are how they are supposed to be, the bar has been set incredibly high for every other burnt end I might pass across my lips. The management's tactful rebuttal to a fellow TripAdvisor... More

Nothing about this place is BBQ. They must cook in ovens because not one item had a smoke ring on the food. EVERYTHING was terrible, flavorless or just plain bad. Even the Snapple was warm The brisket looks and tasted like it was cooked and reheated many times. Ribs were bland and the BBQ chicken was not bbq just plain... More

We love BBQ, and were surprised to see this highly rated place in Brattleboro. We ate there twice, the first time we both had the BBQ ribs, along with the collard greens and roasted root veggies. These was really excellent, and would have rated an "Excellent" review, but the next day we had Red Beans & Rice with Jerked Chicken... More

The Top of the Hill Grill offers simple food but it is delicious. It's never occurred to me that a burrito place could be a viable seasonal business, but obviously Top of the Hill Grill is making it work. We ordered a variety of burritos and one order of mac and cheese for a child in our group - everyone... More

The place is so cute and the food was great. Big portions too! I can't recommend just one thing to eat either, but the cajun fish sandwich was realllllllllllly good. My sister ordered it because I was worried it would be too spicy, but with the sauce and bread, it was the absolute perfect mix of spice and other flavors.... More

I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food served here. Being used to Southern BBQ, I must say Top of the Hill Grill does a pretty fine job with its BBQ sandwich. The prices are good, too.

Top of the Hill Grill is a seasonal outdoor barbeque joint that lots of locals enjoy visiting. The outdoor seating looks over the scenic Retreat meadows and in the fall there's a cozy rustic building with a wood stove. Sometimes all those ribs can be too much meat for me so I go for the chicken plate. It all comes... More

Fabulous barbequed ribs. Mouth-watering char-broiled burgers to order. Only downside is when it's muggy and the mosquitos want dinner, too.

Wayne and Gina have started another year of the best BBQ, TOH. We go at least once a week, and this year TOH further expends the selecton. Now that is the real problem here, too many great selections to pick, and all displayed quite nicely. One tends to stand with major indecision at the order window, even after deciding beforehand... This place started out as a Mexican place in a trailer. If you look closely you can see that the trailer is still there. I tend to go here with a group after a bike ride on a summer evening. I'm a vegetarian and the options are limited, but it's always tasty. I order a tempeh wrap with the roasted... More
