We used Jon's "Top of the Hill Grill" as the food star of our recent Vermont wedding. Multiple visits to "TOHG" had convinced us that Jon was more than up to the task of cooking for our 200 guests. Pulled Pork and BBQ'ed Chicken were the order of the day... but really, all of the barbecue dishes are great. The... More

Stopped here on our way from Maine to Illinois based on Trip Advisor recommendations and it did not disappoint. As reported there was a long line but the food came out pretty quickly. The setting is really unique and fits the restaurant name. Very casual and pleasant. We both had excellent sandwiches with sides and carrot cake. Definitely worth the... More

We were driving from CT to Southern Vermont and we were looking for a spot for a quick dinner. We found this restaurant on tripadvisor. It was just off Exit 3 of I-91 in VT. The price was reasonable and the menu is extensive. We had the pulled pork platter and jambalaya. The food was nothing fancy but tasty. They... More

Love the burnt ends and Mac n cheese, the combo plates are great too. Order at the window, get a playing card and they call your card when ready. They have nice outdoor seating or a little indoor spot to eat inside. Very relaxed atmosphere with a very extensive menu

We ate here for dinner Saturday night. Staff was friendly, portions were generous, the place is literally right on the main road. I got the combo plate, side of collard greens and home made potato salad with carrot cake for dessert. The brisket on the combo was overcooked and tasteless. Ribs and chicken were ok, pulled pork was good. Three... More

While this a walk up and place your order type of place, the outdoor seating is very pleasant. Be prepared to wait a while for your food, but you'll be satisfied when you leave.

We stop here every time we are in Brattleboro. The food is delicious the service is always friendly and wonderful and the dining area is just the best. The outdoor seating is wonderful because of the location. You easily forget you are feet away from Main Street / RT 5. There always seems to be a breeze coming up off... More

It may look a little worse for wear at first glance but don't let that fool you. Stand in line, place your order, and seat yourself anywhere you'd like overlooking the beautiful West River. They will call your "card" when your order is ready to pick up at the window. They have a great selection of BBQ meats, sandwiches, and... More

As a Texan, I am pretty particular about BBQ, and haven't found very many good joints in New England. A stand-out exception to that is Top of the Hill Grill in Brattleboro. It's perched on a scenic hill-top with plenty of outside tables to delight the eyes while the taste buds are getting tickled. I had some burnt ends which... More
