Don't expect a Guinness here, but they have a lot of interesting stuff on tap or cask. This place, and Kipling's next door is a great 1-2 stop for anybody on a pub crawl in the winter, where you don't want to walk far.

I have been visiting McNeill's since 1999. My first time there was my first introduction to fresh beer served from cask via a beer engine. It was an enlightening experience. Over the years the quality has come and gone, and happily, come again. Our last visit (last week) proved to be one of the highlights of our trip. We visited... More

This is a can't miss if you're a beer-lover. They brew so many different, fantastic varieties, and the selection is always changing. The even have some cask beers. The bartenders are very knowledgeable, and happy to tell you all about what makes each brew distinct and delicious. Long tables encourage interaction between groups. I love this place! Keep in mind,... More

Ray McNeill brews the very best beers, usually 15 or more on tap at any one time. Wide variety of beer styles: stouts, IPAs, German style Altbier, Kolsch, Maibock, a great bitter. But the service is awful. The bar rarely opens on time, and is dirty until someone decides to clean it, while customers are waiting for their beer. It... More

The beer is nothing short of excellent! This is a pub/brewery. Hand crafted beer at its best! Go and enjoy something different, something fresh and something extremely tasteful!!

I'm not a beer fan but they are open a lot of hours and offer a wide array of simple, tasty, bar food; nachos, wraps, burritos, etc. I enjoyed just sitting and having a drink but was disappointed that the only big sunny window was filthy with pesty flies enjoying the sun too. Good clean bathrooms, bar games and tables... More

My wife and I love small breweries, and tend to scour the country for them. This was one of the worst we've seen - beer was not good, but that tends to be more of a matter of opinion than anything else. However, for us both difficult to overlook was how dark and dirty the establishment was; like walking into... More

We were the first patrons of the day, and felt like we were intruding on the BT and her "guest". Beer was average.

My friend and I are big beer fans and love a good brewery or dive bar. It takes a lot to make us feel uncomfortable in one of these establishments, but McNeill's definitely was the first. We walked in to local patrons glaring at us like we invaded their territory. The bartender didn't acknowledge or existence so we just grabbed... More

This is the best pub in Brattleboro. It has a really homey feel to it, and the people who work there are so friendly. The beer is excellent, and brewed right there! I could have stayed for hours, I was having so much fun!
