Don't get me wrong, most of the dinner was delicious. But I ordered scallops since they are very difficult to cook well and over cook easily. Everything else was delicious but they did in fact over cook the scallops a little so they lost that sweetness one tastes when they are cooked perfectly.

If budget weren't a consideration, I would dine here once a week. Michael and his staff create an unforgettable experience. The atmosphere is romantic, the service is perfect and the beautifully presented dishes are both creative and delicious. Favorite restaurant in Vermont.

My wife and I dined at T.J. Buckley’s for the third time tonight. As was the case in each of the previous instances, the experience was exceptional. Enough has already been written in other reviews, but let me reiterate some of the basics. T.J. Buckley’s is an intimate chef-owned restaurant. It is located in a vintage dining car, with 7... More

This restaurant will give you a very unique experience!! With only seven tables and an open kitchen to view all the prep work - is great!! The server was phenomenal - I don't think I've ever had better!! She recited the menu to perfection, was attentive the entire time, and was also very pleasant. I had the scallops which were... More

Certainly a quirky restaurant, which is worth a try. It's the only restaurant we have been to where the menu has no prices. Maybe they thought that someone else was paying, so we both had the 'no prices' menu. That was scotched when the bill arrived! Anywhere else, or if we had been on a budget, I would have asked... I spent a mother-daughter weekend in the area and we had early saturday night reservations. Such a special place but you dont need a special occasion to go. Just do it! We had an amazing crabcake, a pate plate that was accessorized with tine precious pickled peppers, chutney, sliced and fanned pears and flowers. So increibly delicious and beautiful. A... More

T.J. Buckley's is an old-time diner car with a top-notch chef and help. The food is seasonal and local and is prepared with the utmost of care and imagination. The dining experience is somewhat limited by the environs, that is, the few tables are somewhat tightly placed, but that also brings the diners together in a nice way if you... More

Setting (in a railroad dining car), presentation and food quality were all first class. A memorable meal.

My wife, her parents and I dined at T J Buckleys October 10. It is an absolutely incredible experience. The restaurant is small - it holds a maximum of 18 people. He offers four entrees and four appetizers per night. We started with a smoked trout tartlet and a cheese/pear dish. Both fantastic. The entree choices were a swordfish, scallops,... More
