The chef owner shows a hands on approach, using local fresh ingredients. We travel all over the world and my husband is not easily impressed. He said "Home run!" The atmosphere and food was excellent. The staff was outstanding, start to finish. I noted other comments about the price. Based on the quality and freshness of the ingredients, the portion... More

We haven't been to Peter Havens since the new owners took over. We went back for a special occasion and we are glad we did. Claude our waiter, remembered us from years ago and we remembered him. The food, wine and service was superb. Rib-eye steak was the best I ever tasted and the fish special was divine. Thank you... More

This is a very nice place. Quite cozy. Food excellent and very interesting, as well. Small place, so best to have a reservation. I tried duck, which I never had before. It was very good. The dinner was expensive, but if one is in the mood for a delicious, pleasant meal, and has something nice to celebrate, this is a... More

I had dinner here for the first time since the new owners took over and I was curious if they would be able to live up the previous owners reputation. They did. The food was cooked perfectly. Literally. I had the steak medallions and my guest had the salmon. Both melted in our mouths. Oysters and the very unique onion... More

The service and ambiance are always the best, hands down, never miss a beat. I've been eating here a few times a year for 20 years. You never have to wonder if this is going to be the place that finally lets you down.

Had diner here on the first night of a 3 night stay in Brattleboro. It was well reviewed which is why we chose it. The reviews were right on. I had the Swordfish, and my girlfriend had the Scallops. Both were delicious and prepared well. Nether of us left feeling hungry. The ambiance was romantic and the place was pretty... More

I have never had a bad meal or service at Peter Havens. It's a unique dining experience. The restaurant is small and intimate, with not many tables. The kitchen is open so you can see your meal being prepared. The staff have all been there for many years and are knowledgable and experienced. The menu changes all the time so... More

We've been coming here for years for special occasions and great dining. It has always been consistently excellent. Alas the new chef/owner did not measure up. The service was still very good but the entrees were only fair, loaded with butter and not much flavor, a bit over done and barely warm on a cold night. Too bad for Brattleboro...and... More

This was our second time at Peter Havens. We chose this establishment to celebrate the New Year. It is truly an incredible experience from the specialized drinks, to the sumptuous food, in addition to the laid back, but professional staff. Albeit, a bit pricy but definitely worth the experience for a special occasion.
