Great place to shop for local things.

We stopped there and spent about 1 1/2 hours there. We bought many different cheeses, preserves, meats, crackers and other things. They had a pretty good Wine selection also. This is a really popular place , and a convenient stop for a quick bite to eat when traveling through Vermont, with easy access from exit 2 off I-91. The day we stopped by was a Sunday, and somewhere between 2:00 and 3:00 PM, and there was at least 50 people inside, with lines practically out the door. There are... More

This place is tiny but very cute. It's situated about 15 feet off the highway. Lots of products, and not just the traditional super-Vermonty things like maple sugar candy. They have a little wine corner, some interesting sauces and salsas, and a really nice display of baked goods. The deli/sandwich area also looked delicious and seemed reasonably priced. I only... The Vermont Country Deli is an institution in Brattleboro for tourists, skiers, and knowledgeable locals. It makes great sandwiches, has a nice array of prepared foods including top notch mac and cheese, offers up baked goods from scones to yule logs, and houses a range of packaged Vermont foods as well good for road or gift. The staff is quick... More

Canter's was a favorite of ours in LA. This one is right up there with NYC and LA but with free parking. Been going for years, and they are consistently excellent. Soups and breads and drinks and gourmet crackers and what-not and shelves of stuff to go in fancy little jars. Treat yourself. No eat-in, no bathrooms.

AWESOME DELI! Maple pulled pork sandwich with cole slaw was remarkable. Everything else looked and smelled incredibly fresh and delicious. Will definitely come back if heading up skiing in VT! Pies looked incredible too

Sad to see the bad reviews because I have only had good encounters with the staff and have liked the merchandise a lot. Interesting selection of foods and candies and coffees, come in with an open mind and even an appetite. Their prepared food is very tasty- to eat there or take home. Even if you aren't hungry, come in... More

We were traveling through Vermont looking at fall foliage and stumbled across this hidden gem! The Deli had several different kinds of food to choose from in a hot and cold bar, plus an excellent sandwich bar and home baked goodies. They have multiple "local" treasures to choose from too. There is no seating in the deli, but there are... More

It's been 9 yrs since we first discovered this place while driving from New Hamsphire back to NYC area. It remains the same as for selection of foods and "goodies." (Once again ordered the pulled pork sandwich that I fell in love with.) See they've expanded across the street...w/picnic tables. We arrived during the lunch hour when there seemed to... More

Stopped here twice so far on the way to NY and on the way home from the Northeast Kingdom for a sandwich and other treats. There are two side-by-side stored..the Deli and the Country store next door. The Deli has freshly baked bread (they bake the bread and cookies there) with which you can build your own sandwich or choose... More
