Black Bear Sugarworks Farm Stand did not open up this Spring. It is gone. Rumor has it that the owner reopened it in Brooklyn, N.Y.!

We were on a family trip through New England and ran into the most pleasant surprise in Vermont. I was searching for some real maple syrup and maple sugar candy. I was in Vermont and on a mission. We ended up stopping by Black Bear and stayed about 45 minutes, tasting the ice cream, candy, and cream soda. The owner... More

Just off the first Vermont Exit #1 of I-91 is an incredible food cart which serves locally-produced, organically-grown meats and veggies. I recommend the chili, hot-dogs, pulled-pork and and Cuban sandwiches, all of which I've enjoyed, as well as the maple-cremies and the "Coca-Colas de Mejico," (in imported glass coke bottles--err, guess that's not local), natural lemonaide, raspberry soda, etc.... We visited the stand twice the day we visited Brattleboro. The Hot dogs were so good that my family had to come back for dinner after kayaking. The hotdogs were the best I have ever tasted and my kids were hooked! The icecream was fabulous too! I bought 3 gallons of syrup to take home for the year. Great service... More

Just 10 seconds off I-91. The food is crafted with love and served with a smile. There are picnic tables under a tent, and restrooms available at the adjacent outlet mall (which is actually way nicer inside than it looks). Amazing, rich, grade B maple syrup available to buy as gifts for all your friends... The owner said he's generally... More

Had a good pulled pork sandwich, Mexican coke (made with sugar, not hi-fructose corn syrup), and a maple soft serve ice cream. All excellent and, except for the coke, locally made. Maple syrup from their farm is available too! Get there before the outdoor cart season's over!

Coming home from vacation in northern Vermont we stopped by this little "hotdog" stand for a quick bite. Right off exit 1 off of Interstate 91 it is a real gem. The grass fed beef hotdog served on a locally baked hot dog bun was the best I have ever eaten. The grilled cheese was just as fabulous with Vermont... More

Great, unexpected experience! The perfect addition to a beautiful fall day! We stopped in to this foodstand because we saw a sign saying "Local Pork for sale" and we quickly pulled in. We got a hot dog, and lots of frozen pieces of pork from the farmer's most recent pig. I have not yet cooked the pig, but I am... More

We had a great time at this quick little stop. Friendly owner, good hot dog, wonderful lemonade on a hot day. Best of all is, of course, the maple sugar treats! Totally worth getting off the highway for. I'll always stop by when in southern Vermont!

I stopped by the stand today for the first time. I have to say I am already looking forward to the next time I go up to Brattleboro. I had the best hod dog I have ever had. It wasn't just that the frankfurter itself was excellent, it is made with grass fed beef, but the toppings on it were... More
