Gillies no longer is open There is now a Chinese place there . We were disappointed and went to NH to have dinner
After several years of purchasing marvelous fresh seafood and meats from the friendly staff at Gillies, we were heartbroken to see the For Sale signs in the window late this spring. We also enjoyed several fantastic meals in the restaurant. One of us had the fish and chips, which were scrumptious, while the other had a simple salmon dish. The... More
Like the title of the review said, this place was a gem. Easily the best seafood in the immediate area, and a great bar scene to boot. Its closure is a great loss for West Brattleboro.
We have had several dozen terrific meals at this great local restaurant and are desolated to learn that it has closed. Hope they reopen elsewhere soon.
It can't get fresher - it can't get better. Great host and server staff. Do oyster shots for starters.

I ordered seafood Alfredo and it had tons of shrimp and scallops in a sinfully rich cream sauce. Very satisfying. This restaurant also... More
We have been to Gillies at least 6 times over the last four months and have sampled many items from the menu; soups, clams, mussels, calamari, swordfish, sea bass, to name a few dishes. The food is ALWAYS fresh and properly seasoned, we have never been anything but completely satisfied with our meals. The staff is friendly, welcoming, and there... More
