A good surprise, in spite of first impressions

Just passing through Brattleboro and in the mood for prime rib. The hotel information pointed us there. We had our doubts when we pulled in, saw the very basic decor and then found that the hotel info was way out of date. There would be no prime rib. The ribeye steaks were done correctly to... read more

It was excellent eggs Benny choice of ham or spinach. I got spinach. Excellent hollandaise. We had the French Toast w/carmalized peaches walnuts and maple syrup. Awesome. Definitely have brunch there again. We always enjoy dinner there. Friendly place. Friendly staff. We go at least once per week.

I eat at The New England House at least twice a week. Sometimes I eat with friends in the dining room, other times in the pub area. Whether choosing from the full menu, the bar menu, or the specials I have never been disappointed. The staff is friendly and attentive without being pushy. Kurt and Selma bend over backwards to... Horrible. Went on a slow night. Owner told us great menu. Steak tips were going bad and covered withbsauce. Steak was fat. Waitress noplace to be found. Fingerling roasted potatoes were boiled. Creamed spinach was cold spinach with Parensan. Horrible. Skip this place.

Horrible. The only good thing were our drinks. Service is extremely slow, which doesn't make sense because they had half the restaurant closed and not for a privet party. This is the fist time I had gone since the new owners, and the need to sell it back. The menue no longer works with the New England style. It is... More

This used to be a nice, dependable friendly kind of place but our most recent dinner was very disappointing. Despite the fact that the restaurant was nearly empty, the hostess didn't appear for nearly five minutes. I ordered the lobster roll ballyhooed outside on the signage and the lobster meat had been picked many hours or even a day or... More

The food and service at this restaurant is always very good. The place was not very crowded but we had a pleasant and relaxing dinner before attending a concert at Marlboro College.

I was leaving the Berkshires and happen to drive by the place. It looked updated and had a large parking lot. A sign of good food normally. It was a later Thursday night and few people were in the place. I had the pork porterhouse meal. You had your choice of sides and toppings. It was all good. The menu... More

Good food, drinks, and warm atmosphere combine to make this a fun place to visit. I love the staff here - very friendly and attentive service! I visited with a large group that was served quality food with a minimum of delays considering the restaurant was understaffed that day. Kudo's to management for a good job well done! We dined...
