Fine Dining with a Country Twist

I love the New England House and I try to make a habit to go there when ever my husband and I have an anniversary or big celebration. The food is always great, the atmosphere is always nice and the service is always up to par. The only reason that I rate 4 stars and not 5 is the length... read more

We made a reservation more than a week early for Valentines dinner (2 couples). Extremely disappointed in the offerings as we've dined at The New England House before and really enjoyed our dinner. This night there was a limited menu and 2 items we looked forward to ordering were not on the special menu. Given it was Valentines Day &... More

So, we were driving by and couldn't resist the look of the place, so we stopped for dinner. Oh, how we wish we'd kept driving. This place has GREAT potential. It's rustic and charming. It feels warm and inviting, from the Tiffany-style lamps to the exposed wooden beams. They even gave us menus displayed on slate, with the daily specials.... More

Unfortunately can not provide an above average because of the lack of customer service and service overall. No attention to detail...have to ask several times for food items. Untrained servers touching tops of soup bowls and glasses, grubby attire (seriously one looked like she had been rolling around the kitchen). Did not get the dish I ordered but some other... More

The customers were even friendly like we've been going there for years. The food is excellent - I had horseradish encrusted salmon with garlic mashed potatoes and butter nut squash. Good portion of salmon and for 17.95 you can't beat that. Joleen was working the bar and tables till the extra help came in. She did a great job handling... More

The food was excellent!!! I had their pot roast special and my hubby had the ribeye and both were so flavorful and tender (saw multiple plaques that said best food for several years in a row). At the same time, the stuff were so friendly and even playful with my super active 13 month old. The place is really intimate... More

Popped in for a quick early dinner on our way down highway 9 and were pleasantly surprised! The food was excellent as was the service. Not too pricey for the "fine dining" experienced. Atmosphere is pleasant - we sat in the dining room but the bar is a less formal (although the country inn feel to the place did not... More

I stopped in at The New England House for a quick lunch with my sister. We arrived about 1 P.M. There were a few diners and the atmosphere was very nice. I had the Vampire Chaser appetizer with a cup of clam chowder. The appetizer was wonderful and quite unique it has roasted garlic & whipped brie baked on sliced... More

I totally enjoyed eating here - the atmosphere is pleasant - the bar area great with a fireplace - and the food was excellent. I would definitely eat here again any time - I recommend it to others.

This is so funny I was just here last year at this time (October) and it was another name. This is a quaint Colonial style restaurant in Brattleboro we sat at the window and as you looked out all you could see was the beautiful views of the Mountain with the foliage the colors where just beautiful! The service was... More
