Warm and inviting, casual fine dining at Café Provence is a truly memorable experience. Located in the restored historic section of downtown Brandon, Vermont—Chef Robert Barral, former Executive Chef of the New England Culinary Institute and The Four Seasons in Boston, crafts our seasonal menu to showcase not only his talents as a chef, but also highlight the best meats, cheeses, and vegetables that local farms have to offer.

Just moved into the area and had heard about Cafe Provence. Coming from Pittsburgh I didn't think we'd find food as good as you can get there, but honestly this place exceeded our expectations! We've been meaning to try Café Provence for some time and finally had a chance last Friday evening. We were there with another couple, taking them out for dinner as a thank you for dog sitting while we were out of the country. Service was good although a little slow initially when we had a longer than expected wait for... More

We were surprised to find that there was a French restaurant in Brandon when we were there. We decided to eat there. We each had super food. I remember the special Beef Bourgignon (?), which was fabulous. Our waitress (very attentive and super) asked if I thought they should make the dish a standard. I thought they should. Be sure... This has become our "Cheers" during the 10 years Chef has been here in Brandon. What a jewel, and he is very supportive of the community. In addition, Chef is a great and patient teacher (yes, there are cooking classes offered during the year). The food is consistently good, reasonably priced, and varied. The menu changes frequently, but the old... More

I came on this restaurant while traveling through some of the small towns and back roads of Vermont. It is in Brandon, VT - a fairly small town, so it was nice to find such a great restaurant in this little town. They had seating both indoors and out (It was during the summer). Chose to eat indoors, and the... More

Dropped in for dinner based on the recommendation of the folks from the Lilac Inn. There really isn't much atmosphere - the noisy open kitchen and brightly lit dessert display chiller make it feel a bit like you're in a cafeteria. And I thought the food was just ok - it wasn't terrible, but I certainly wouldn't go rushing back.... More

We chose to have our wedding anniversary lunch here because we knew that the good food is consistent. Once again we were right. Cafe Provence has an appeal that spans differences in taste and succeeds on all fronts. We had the soup of the day, a wonderful curried lentil soup where the green lentils had a bit a of bite... This was the first visit for my husband and me but I'm sure we'll return. We went during "brunch time" on Sunday. I was surprised at how reasonable the prices were since I expected it to be more expensive. Most items on the menu were in the $10-15 range. Service was very friendly and upbeat. We couldn't finish our meal... More

Very nice spot...bought some pastries and coffee, but also ended up viewing a lovely wine collection and purchasing a 1/2 case to take home.

A great find! The food was wonderful, and the staff were super nice. They even made our wedding cake in their bakery. Cannot say enough good things.
