Great meal!

My husband and I had a great dinner here. We chose to share the warm spinach salad, which included poached pears and was very tasty. Then we shared the fettuccine with shrimp and asparagus. It was also wonderful. Both dishes were very generous and enough to share. They also served bread, which was... read more

Excellent wine list - mostly Italian - lesser known labels and varieties. Kale salad [with goat cheese] was excellent - the kale had been 'massaged' and unlike a previous experience somewhere else, was not at all tough. Pork tenderloin and Arctic char entrees were both excellent. Would go back next time we are in the area.

Three of us visited this very nice restaurant which is only open for dinner. Their wine list is interesting because it only has wines from Italy. Since we are not familiar with Italian wineries we relied on the server's recommendation. She chose well, we were very pleased! A nice wine at a nice price point. However our dinner choices were... For a relaxing dinner in comfortable setting. Excellent, well prepared food from diverse menu by efficient staff. Compares quite favorably to any big city hot spot. Go.

Owner/chef is a genius! And entrees run from about $10 to over $20, so it's a real community restaurant, pulling in happy people from all income levels. Wait staff is very pleasant. Fun to look out, from several tables, at the sidewalk and Main Street. ........ My favorite dishes: 1) linguini with sauteed shrimp and asparagus, served in a creamy... More

My husband and I received a gift card as a holiday present. We stepped a little out of our zone in dining at Allegro (very classy) but it turned out to be a wonderful evening. The service was great, the atmosphere was relaxing and the food tasted so good even my husband (picky eater) enjoyed everything.

In all good conscience I have to re-review Allegro. A recent Saturday night visit was abysmal. The salad was big - but limp, tired, and drowning in balsamic. The calamari was just plain inedible - the squid itself was passably tender but the coating was greasy and so heavy that most of it fell off the pieces. So what came... More

If you want to take your wife or girlfriend out one night or you want to impress your friends this is the place to go. Make reservations on the weekends. The service is wonderful, they know their menu and also their wine list. The menu is out of this world, I have never gotten a bad meal or a meal... More

The pasta with mushrooms and cream sause will definately fill you if you are hungry. The mussels were also quite good as an appetizer. Service was attentive, but not over powering, just right. MAKE reservatioins as seatinmg ilimited and quite popular for Friday or Saturday evenings. So if in the Bennington area for dinner, make Allegro a must visit for... More
