Great Food

Decided to stop and eat at Pangaea Lounge for two reasons. First of all it was recommended by friends and secondly we wanted to return to the establishment that we frequented as kids in the 60's (was called the Rainbarrel Coffee House at that time). There were four of us and everyone enjoyed... read more

Really great - inventive food in a tiny town. I dine in NYC often and this restaurant compares with some of the best that I have been to. Service was excellent. Décor is lovely as is the open kitchen.

We received a certificate for dinner at Pangaea as part of our B&B Girls Getaway Package from the Eddington House Inn. What a surprise! It was a dining experience: not just a dinner out. The chef is amazing. The food was creative and inventive. The staff was super friendly and professional. The spring roll salad was unbelievable. As was the... More

Staff was super friendly. Wine and beer no complaints. We ate in the tavern side and the prices were not bad at all. My husband had the flank steak with a burgundy mushroom sauce. Good but had to dig very deep to find any mushrooms. I had the lobster saffron risotto. Would have been OK as a side but I... More

The staff was great. We showed up a little later on in the night and things were winding down, but they kept the kitchen open for us and were very accomodating. The food was delicious and they had enough vegetarian options to satisfy me.

Fresh food made to order. Limited menu, no anti-pasta. I had mussels which were plentiful. My guest had fettuccine which they raved about.

This is sort of a world cuisine restaurant. Limited but eclectic menu. Price points surprisingly modest. Had their mushrooms pasta (truffle sauce) for entree. Linguine well cooked but dish over salted. Side salad a sad affair. No bread served at table. Ok wine list. Wait staff could benefit from more training.

As an owner of a local inn, I often send my guests to Pangaea for a truly exceptional meal. Without fail, my guests come back raving. My husband and I were reminded of how special their brand of fine dining truly is when we dined there last week. My scallops were done to perfection and served on a bed of... More

Excellent dining in out of the way North Bennington. Friendly waitress, good food, served in an appealing, casual atmosphere. This is now our favorite.

Poor Bennington. There's not a lot going for this tiny town, I can't imagine what the students of the college do with all their spare time. Anyway, Pangaea; nice food, quite small, surprisingly expensive for what you get but otherwise a good find. Not much from the outside so doesn't look enticing but would recommend going in if you're not... More
