When I first started coming to the area I loved Powers. It was full of interesting eats, good coffee and was a real hangout. Now when I stop in, its just depressing. Never anyone there. Inventory wise it seems to be half empty, and the prepared food is overpriced. The counter help could not care less about your order. I... More

Sure it's got the usual - classic building, good coffee, sandwiches, light groceries - but how about a dynamite wine selection shared with Pangaea restaurant? And in the middle of one of the most inviting villages in Vermont

The coffee is excellent here. The baked goods are mediocre. A friend said the breakfast sandwiches were good although I did not try them. The food in the deli case looked a little sad. Convenience foods and wine filled the rest of the store. I am glad they are there- for the coffee if no other reason. Wifi available and... More

I stopped at Powers Market late in the afternoon to pick up a sandwich for dinner. They were out of roast beef and did not seem sure what else they had. The counter staff seemed bored and disinterested. I will say, however, that the sandwich I was able to order WAS good. Maybe I was just there on the wrong... More

I live across the border in NY, but love to travel into Vermont. I have stopped at powers market many times over the years - the food and coffee are always wonderful. I love sitting at one of the small tables in the front window, or on one of the chairs on the porch. it is such a beautiful little... More

Cute sandwich shop on the edge of a quintessential vermont town square. Good sandwich too.

This is a cute, well kept historic fixture in North Bennington. It's gone through a number of owners over the years, but the recent ones have kept up with the renovations. It is quite pricey, but a nice place to look around and stop for coffee. Most of the items sold are of the gourmet variety.

"Powers" is a combo grocery store/ sandwich place near Bennington College. No pretense - just tasty, generous, well prepared lunch fare. A pleasant trip back in time.
