Smokin' Bowls is our "must" lunch stop when my family makes its pilgrimage to the Vermont Country Store, and now I think its become visa versa since their soup is so great. I fancy myself a bit of a soup connoisseur, and I'd put Smokin' Bowls imaginative, hardy offerings at the top of any "best of" categories. Yes, service could... More

Whether on our way up to Okemo or on our way out we usually stop at Smokin' Bowls for some tasty soup. The soup is delicious and HOT! They put the soup in a coffee cup which is perfect for the driver to drink/eat and drive. One word of caution though is that while waiting in line and ordering you... More

A friend of mine recommended this to me although I might have stopped on the way by as it looks like it could be interesting. I had my mind set on soup, and unfortunately I didn't think their clam chowder would measure up to what I'm used to, and the other option sounded a little far out. I guess I... More

I am hesitant to buy lobster anywhere that is not on the coast, but this place has fresh lobster rolls that rival any found in Maine ( and this is spoken by a Mainiac!). Everything on the menu is of the highest quality and the home made soups are amazing. This small roadside stand is a delightful find on Route... More

We stopped here for a quick lunch on our way out of VT. The prices are perfect, there's tons of options, and the woman was extremely friendly. There was a cute charm about this roadside stop that drew us in immediately. Plenty of vegetarian/vegan options as well -- the tofu pup was great! This is a new 'must visit' when... More

My husband and I drove by this place on our way to a wedding week in Ludlow and pulled over for lunch with our dog. Great food; looooooved the chili; lemonade was perfect; grabbed some farm fresh eggs too! We will stop by on our way home :)

I past this place often so I decided to finally stop. I thought it was a bit expensive. Anyway I decided to give it a try, I had the New England Clam Chowder. Never did I think it would be the best thing I have ever tasted. From a little shack on the side of the road you would not... More

Pretty simple, but simple is what I like. They had a variety of tasty sounding soups. I had creamy chicken and my husband had (I believe it was called) Cheech & Chong Chilli that was said to be made with grass-fed beef. About $15 for 2 soups; I feel like it is a little pricey and that the portions were... More

There is a Smokin' Bowls on the side of the highway that I often stop at after skiing at Stratton. The soup is delicious and there is usually a good variety, even for vegetarians. There are old standbys and unique soups like the Thai Peanut, one of my favorites. Be careful, they don't call it smokin' bowls for nothing- the... More
