The Barnard Inn is a jewel. It has kept the historic features and feels a bit like you are stepping back in time when you go through the doors. The dining areas are spread throughout several smaller rooms of the house, and as such you have an intimate feel. And the food is lovely - very traditional fare (chicken, pork,... More

Restaurant is right up the road from where we were staying at the Maple Leaf Inn and for our first night we we stayed local and are glad we did! Made a reservation as it was Wassail weekend and was sure if it would get crowded. It wasn't overly crowded, but on a weekend I would consider making one. The... More

Used to love coming to Barnard. Love the state park . Now about the Barnard Inn. Been coming here for years since the wife and I first met. We both fell in love with the Tomato bisque. It had the most addicting flavor you could imagine with the cheddar cheese. I don't know what happened but we went back last... More

Had "Wienerschnitzel" at the bar - which was ACTUALLY a fabulous lightly breaded "Chicken Piccata". Lovely, lonely bartender "Teal" informed me it was one of the ONLY things that NEVER goes off their ever-changing menu. I came a lone and felt very cared for and pampered. Every bit of it was very very nice - even the leftovers Teal boxed... More

This restaurant is well worth the scenic drive north of Woodstock. We like to go when ever we are in town. The food is fresh and delicious. The service is great! There is a rustic tavern and a more formal dining area but same great food in both places.

Located in Barnard Vermont the Barnard Inn offers the best in country dining. Great ambiance and terrific food choices we were very impressed with the quality and presentation of our meal. You have a choice of Tavern food or fine dining and both are excellent. This will be a favorite spot for us when we visit Vermont.

We had a very good dinner with friends in the Tavern! The Inn has lots of character, and the grounds are beautiful!

Good food - not 5-star, but enjoyable and convenient when staying in Barnard. There were no available tables inside so we ate outside, which was actually quite lovely although the outdoor table could have been cleaned better for us (and they could have asked some of the kids running around screaming very nearby to move elsewhere).
