The quality of the food at our dinner at the Barnard Inn was excellent. However, the kitchen service was quite slow and charging $5 for ordinary bread was unusual which made the overall experience just average.

We liked the approach, the grounds etc. We found the atmosphere in the Tavern not appropriate to the prices on the menu. The food was just soso, not bad, but not excellent. Felt like we were being rushed. Was handed the check and was told I could take a quick look. Usually I do not study the bill, but after... More

Stopped in Max's with our 2 children before the Street Dance. They obviously don't care for family patrons. We weren't made aware of any kid friendly dishes or offerings. It took at least 10 minutes for our waitress to come by. Our drinks were delivered after our meal. The butter for our $5 loaf of bread took so long the... More

Just called in for an evening meal and was totally impressed with the quality of the food. Much of it was sourced locally. It was beautifully prepared and delicious. I had the vegetarian option which I would highly recommend.

We had the good fortune to eat dinner here on our recent trip to Woodstock, VT. A local recommended it. All the ingrdients are very fresh (farm to table) and the portions are generous. The food was perfectly prepared and delicious. Our family of four enjoyed the pork chop, steak, bolagnese and tortellini dishes. Wow- it was superb. To top... More

Ate here with a female friend in the tavern. The prices are high and the portions too large--$14 for a salad with bleu cheese and pecans and $26 for a pasta with pork entree. Although we are normal eaters, we had heard the portions were large, so we split both the salad and the entree, which was more than enough... More

Ate dinner here as part of a party of 10, celebrating a family birthday. Though the menu was somewhat limited, all we're able to find something to enjoy (including the picky eaters). Service was outstanding, food was excellent. White and dark chocolate bread pudding will be remembered for many years!

The Barnard Inn was a great find. It offers formal dining as well as a more casual tavern area. I ate in the tavern and had an unexpectedly good meal--first rate all the way. The clam chowder was very good but the best part for me was the chicken schnitzel. It was perfectly prepared and absolutely delicious. They have a... More

We ate here with our children and friends during Feb. vacation week and loved the food. We made reservations and they kindly recommended and seated us in the more casual section of the restaurant. Everyone enjoyed what they ordered including the wonderful salads. The time between courses was a bit long but we were with good friends so the kids... More

We celebrated new years with another couple and we all had a great time and great meal. I had one of Will's specials - venison medallions which were out of this world - great atmosphere and great service
