Surprisingly Superior Indian Food at Saffron Valley in South Jordan, UT

We're pretty familiar with Indian street food and have eaten it for years. We ordered samosas [fried pastry with savory potato filling], masala dosa [huge thin pancake with savory potato stuffing wrapped in it], and Gulab Jamin [fried milk balls with sweet rosewater syrup]. Every one of these... read more

I have used Saffron Valley a number of times to cater a gathering for me and my family and unfortunately the gentlemen who has taken my orders I think is the owner who had constantly decreases the meat portion to the point there is maybe a spoonful of meat in his sauces. For the price it is not a good... More

Exotic yet accessible, this small bistro provides a taste of India in the heart of the Salt Lake valley. It is small but efficient, and seemed to feed a large number of locals during our brief stop. Attentive waitstaff helped identify the dishes on the small buffet, and, of course, I tried them all. Great flavors and textures were the... More

We went to this locations couple of times and we liked the food, service and ambience. The variety of menu is good. Food tasted great. Only thing i didn't like is Price. It is an indian fast food restaurant and the prices were way higher than california, new york which is hard to believe. The quantity was not justifiable to... More

This was our first time here and I hope to come back whenever we are in town. The meat and seafood in the Saffron Platter were moist and full of great spices and their Biryani was very tasty. The rice pudding was a bit thin, but it made up for it in flavor.

New to the area and wanting to find something different I took my wife here for a date night. Not what I had really expected the best rated restaurant in South Jordan to be but here we are. I have not really gotten into Indian food but this was incredible. Had the Chicken Biryani and just super flavorful. Spicey but... More

I had the opportunity to take a cooking class from the owner right after Christmas. That experience convinced me that I needed to try her restaurant. Buffet lunch had many choices and included mango lassi. My litmus test for any Indian restaurant is the Saag Paneer. Its not the prettiest looking dish, but it is a good way to determine... More

They are very busy for a reason...the food is fantastic. Try to go before or after the lunch crowd for their buffet. It's $10.99 per person...a bit pricey but well worth it. There is another Indian restaurant in the same shopping center but Saffron's food tastes soo much better. Their mango lassi is devine.

We just had our first visit to the restaurant. We went to the buffet so we could try a bit of everything. We did order my daughter a PBJ rollup which took like 20 minutes for them to get to us for some reason, but that was the only downside. Staff was very good to keep drinks refilled. Place was...
