Communal makes some of the best dishes in Provo. Entrees are always spot on, creative and flavorful and the desserts are what you call money in the bank.

Early bird walk-ins tonight at Communal. Everything was perfect, but the food was, well...sublime. One of those rare meals you remember and appreciate after so many forgettable nights in restaurants.

Every Provo person we talked to raved about Communal, so we gave it a try. It is very small and very loud, and we knew we would have to wait. What they estimated to be a 30 minute wait turned into 70 minutes. They were apologetic (you can only estimate when people will leave--you can't make them leave), and provided... More

Everything is made fresh using local ingredients. I explained that I was Vegetarian with Vegan tendencies. Our server took a menu to the chef and came back with each offering labeled as Vegetarian or Vegan or what could be altered to make it so. One of the meat dishes came on a bed of Ratatouille. I asked if they could... More

Their brunch is so good and the atmosphere is fantastic. I love their biscuits and gravy. Really great service too. You can see that the chefs feel like their food is art.

The food is creative, but nothing particularly noteworthy. With such a small place, it feels crowded and noisy. All in all, I don't think it lived up to the hype and expectations and generally found it to be quite expensive all things considered.

Communal does a great job of bringing a fresh dining concept to Provo. Imaginative and fresh entrees and sides. The place is very small—which is both good and bad. The atmosphere feels intimate and cozy but it's often difficult to get a table. Last time I was there I had the marinated beet salad and the salmon. You’ll enjoy it.

We had dinner at Communal on a Thursday evening with our 15 year old granddaughter who is a pretty adventurous eater for a teenager-- thank God. No chicken tenders for this girl. The service was terrific from each of the people we encountered - the person who took our reservation, the person who greeted us when we arrived and the... More

We swung again recently, this time for lunch. Their execution on lunch is more consistent than dinner (dinner is great, they just have the occasionally miss, which they shouldn't for the prices). The lunch time cost is also more reasonable (11-13 for a full sandwich. Deserts also available). Which makes it a great value for the area, especially if you'd... More

Absolutely enjoyed the atmosphere, the service and the food. There is always something special about finding an excellent restaurant while travelling, and this is a gem. My partner and I shared a meal, and while not feeling overly full, we were well sated and did not leave wanting more. Compliments to the chef(s)!
