My wife and I came to Provo for business and were looking for a nice local restaurant for dinner. We are very glad that we found Communal because it was a far better place to eat than what we were expecting. You have your choice of closely spaced doubles tables or one long table where 20 people can dine. The... More

We walked in after a long day in the car looking less than spectacular. They seated us immediately and didn't mind our super casual attire. The food was great, but that dessert was amazing! I could have licked the plate. FYI- Wine list and beer, but no hard alcohol.

Went to communal for the first time with some friends. It is a grossly overpriced excuse for a "trendy" restaurant. We had a party of six, and the server suggested we order "at least five entree's." She wasn't kidding, the portions are tiny. Maybe I'm mistaken, but I thought the point of "Communal" was you shared the entree's. Honestly the... More

This restaurant could get dropped into the middle of a big city (San Francisco, New York, LA, etc) and not miss a beat. The food was OUTSTANDING (and the service was way above average as well). We weren't sure what to expect when this restaurant was recommended to us but we will absolutely go back next time we are in... More

We went to communal for our 3 year anniversary, and I gotta tell ya, it was delightful. The service was very good, the food was extremely tasty, and overall we loved it. My wife was talking about it for days. It is pretty pricey, no doubt, but for special occasions, I would say it's a fun place to splurge a... More

We stopped for lunch because of the good reviews. They were correct! The food was amazing. The service was great and the attention to detail was awesome. Even the restrooms had interesting decor. Loved it!

This is the second time I have been to Communal and as with the first, very impressed. Food is fresh, prepared perfectly, and large portions. Love that they use locally grown produce and fresh fish flown in and not frozen. The king salmon was perfectly cooked, the carrots were flavorful, and the snap peas were to die for. So hard... More

Communal makes some of the best dishes in Provo. Entrees are always spot on, creative and flavorful and the desserts are what you call money in the bank.

Early bird walk-ins tonight at Communal. Everything was perfect, but the food was, well...sublime. One of those rare meals you remember and appreciate after so many forgettable nights in restaurants.

Every Provo person we talked to raved about Communal, so we gave it a try. It is very small and very loud, and we knew we would have to wait. What they estimated to be a 30 minute wait turned into 70 minutes. They were apologetic (you can only estimate when people will leave--you can't make them leave), and provided... More
