Very Special Evening

While in town for Sundance, we wanted a special dinner with friends, so we booked the Viking Yurt a couple of weeks in advance of our visit. We went into the experience a little nervous--would it be cool, or would it be silly/touristy? We had a really wonderful evening! Although it's... read more

Thank you for taking the time to write such a long review. Yes, Lucy the sleigh loader, is 95 years old and I named her "The Yurt Flirt" We all adore her! This entire town adores her. I am very interested in how you think we could improve our wine offerings? We have ridiculously little space up there so only... More

Got a couple of mid-day "warmers" (hot chocolate with schnapps and a whiskey cider) and split a grill cheese panini and we were good to go. Authentic wood fire burning throughout and friendly service make this a memorable mid-mountain stop. Didn't try a huge cookie, but I now regret it.

This is an absolute must while in Park City. The ride up is fresh but gorgeous. The yurt is cozy and beautifully appointed and the food is delicious. The lemon and tarragon sorbet is unexpectededly amazing. I'm not a huge cheese fan but the caramelised goats milk cheese from Norway was spectacular. This is a unique experience that you will... I first must say, dress in layers, although the sleigh ride is cold, and blankets are provided, the yurt is very warm and cozy. Everything was delicious! The chef was very friendly and did not only introduce his staff, but came over and personally introduced himself to each table. I recommend eating very lightly during the day, there is a... More

Can't stress enough to dress in layers and warm!!! It gets really cold in the sleigh on the way up and a few people experienced that though we were dressed appropriately. The food was good, the piano was great, we got to meet and talk to new people. Had a blast and recommend it.

The sleigh ride and view were the best part however there were lots of rules. Don't be late, No drinking on the sleigh, only one blanked for every three people, ringing the cow bell to silence folks to listen to more rules. Food was ok but a bit heavy. Servers were only fair when compared to other establishments. There were... More

Perfect information for future guests! Frankly we don't encourage "unruly" people to come to our unusual restaurant. The staff is trained to stand up to disrespectful guests. Otherwise they could ruin the experience for the others. If every one showed up whenever they felt like it and can't tolerate 3 minutes of instructions before they go up, we could never... More

A truly unique experience. It starts with a fun and cozy sleigh ride up the mountain in the dark. Then you arrive the Vurt and are welcomed into a wonderful seating environment with a terrific piano player and a cup of hot Grogg that you can spice up with a kick of alcohol. Each course was delicious and beautifully presented.... More

Perfect from beginning to end; there are very few experiences like it! The 'sleigh' up the mountain in the falling snow was picture perfect. (Dress warmly). The food was very good and the service delightful. Although I'm not usually a fan of communal tables, it was wonderful to get to know people visiting the yurt from all over the country... More
