Wonderful Dining Experience

The mariposa was my best dining experience this winter. The food was fabulously executed and the wine flights were well thought out. Service was good but for me the food was the shining star. Great job by all. Be ready to spend some money though!

Our party of four was greeted by a lovely hostess and brought to a cozy table by the fire upstairs. The server John was extremely knowlegable about the menu and wines and made great suggestions. The entire staff was courteous and very professional. We debated all the way back to our lodge about which "small plate was the favorite. The... More

Wonderful not-so-small plate tasting menu concept. Between the four of us ordered 10 plates ( two kids-6 and 8) and not a single one was disappointing. The absolute winner- the goat cheese soufflé. The runner ups: divers scallops and veal scaloppini-not to be outdone by the quail and bison. The monkfish wrapped in bacon and the tenderloin were excellent too.... More

I was excited to try Mariposa for the first time, and enjoyed my visit. The service was spot on, and very knowledgeable about the menu. The dishes are unique and delicious. The atmosphere doesn't blow you away, but the service and food make up for it. Great!

This restaurant proved to be the highlight of our week in Deer Valley. Within walking distance of Stein Eriksen Lodge, the décor is warm and inviting with lots of nooks and crannies to keep the noise level down. Staff was great with good knowledge of the menu. The highlight is to order 3, 4 or 5 small plates (average portion... More

A truly memorable experience at Mariposa. We were able to get a later reservation based on a recommendation from a local friend. The food presentation, quality, and inventiveness were truly outstanding. We opted for wine pairings, which were delightful. Everything was so delicious, I can't recommend Mariposa too highly.

Celebrated my husbands 73rd birthday last night at mariposa! What a gem. After skiing all day, we enjoyed a leisurely dinner . Best table in from of the fireplace for 5 of us. The small plate tastings were delicious. Just enough to enjoy about 8 different things on the menu. The scallops, onion tart, cheese soufflé were excellent and the... More

We saved the best place in Deer Valley for our final night. Our experience exceeded our high expectations. I had been here more than two decades ago. It was great then and it' remains one of the best dining experiences I've had on the planet. The small plate concept is well executed. Our waiter was attentive, well informed, and very... More
