We had a very good ice cream here but it was not the best ever. We did not try the rest of the menue since this is a tipical ice cream shop. Nice 50's decoration. There are a lot of different flavours and the price is not expensive.

We arrived late and everything else in Panguitch was closed but this cute ice cream place. We had a milkshake and a tour upstairs where there's a little museum and a cinema. Both great! If you are visiting town, don't miss it!

There's not a lot to eat in Panguitch, but our hotel owner kept recommending the Historic GEM Theater. How perplexing - a theater where you eat? Apparently so. The concept is charming - dinner and a movie in the same building - which is a historic building built in 1909. You order a meal, take it into the theater, and... More

We had tried almost every restaurant in Panguitch so for lunch we decided on Scoops from the Past at the GEM Theater. The proprietor at the hotel said they had just started serving sandwiches, wraps, etc. but he hadn’t tried it. How bad can a sandwich be? It was great. I have no idea what you do to make a... More

Really cute place located in an old movie theater building. The ice cream was very good and it was a pleasant place to come after dinner.

The food was great with a reasonable price. The owner (John) was very personable and the chef prepared the food with a great attention to detail.

On a Sunday evening in early May when nothing was open on Main Street, we followed the Red Canyon ranger's recommendation to try a brand new business, Scoops From the Past/Historic Gem Theatre. A renovated one-screen theatre combined with a retro-themed cafe offering primarily home-made ice cream, but also a variety of sandwiches and salads. This is a developing business... More

We had their authentic North Carolina pulled pork sandwich. Way too much sauce....where's the meat. There really isn't enough room to do all they are trying to do here. They need to focus on what they do best. Movies and Ice cream.....

We stopped here on our way back home from Bryce Canyon. We had lunch (Steak Sandwich - amazing! Chicken Salad Sandwich, French Dip and the Meatloaf Sandwich - all great!) and Ice cream for dessert. The service was awesome, not your typical almost annoying over the top way too friendliness, but honest, helpful, simply nice service with charm and humor!!... More
