A Near Miss

My wife loves this restaurant and will always give it high marks. It is one of her favorites whenever she is in Ogden, but I had never been there, so we decided to go for our anniversary. The decor is really cool and inviting. The old building is well furnished and isn't pretentious at all. I... read more

Passed by for...decades. Then on a trip, we pulled off the interstate and headed for the attraction. I loved the whole nature of the monument! Quite a point in history. Surprisingly, the gift shop only missed slightly by not having a kitschy plastic ( or steel) replica of a golden spike! I know it's silly, but it would have been... More

The food was very good, a great selection. I went with the Salmon, crab cakes, French Onion Soup and Creme Brulet. All was very good, staff was very nice but was on the high end of the price range.

We very much enjoyed the salads and the rice bowls. The decor is inviting and the staff are polite and knowledgeable.

We ate at Bistro 258 on Thursday night with a group of 17 people. We sat in the back of the restaurant, coming in from the hotel parking area. They have enclosed the back of the building in glass but because it has been hot all day the room was quite warm in the early evening hours. It is a... More

We are eaters. All of us. The human race has few activities more frequent than eating. The acclaimed philosopher Voltaire exclaimed that "nothing would be more tiresome than eating and drinking if God had not made them a pleasure as well as a necessity." Yet we eat every day, often without taking the time to enjoy the process. Days become... More

My wife decided eat here based on the comments we've heard from some friends. We loved it! It feels a lot nicer than the other restaurants in downtown Ogden. The food was excellent. The prime rib was the best I've ever had. The chocolate torte is like nothing i've ever had. This place is nice enough that a date night... More

We originally went there with friends for a large group event. With all those people, the service and the food was perfect. Everything was hot and tasted wonderful. We have been back there many times and it just keeps getting better. The one comment I must make is about the manager (Angelica (I hope)). WOW.... was she great. She stayed... More

Over the years we've enjoyed this spot but this weekend was a different tune. Not having been here for a year plus, I thought I'd take my daughter their for date night. She's 12 and is starting to become a foodie :) Her words were, "this is fine dining". Although the experience and comment was enduring - the food and... More

We ate at Bistro 258 early mid-week. We sat in the back of the restaurant, coming in from the hotel side - and that is the place to sit. They have enclosed the back of the building in glass - it has a light airy garden feel to the room. I had the Santa Fe Carbonara and my friend had... More
