After a delightful stay at the Best Western next door, my girlfriend and I visited Thunderbird Restaurant the next morning for breakfast. My husband and I stopped for breakfast en route from Bryce to Zion. They had your typical fare with a few unique dishes. We asked some questions about particular menu items, and our waitress was refreshingly honest...i.e. "I've had better elsewhere." I chose the country fried steak as I've not been able to get real country fried steak since we... More

Such a cute place! Server and Hostess were super sweet. I had breakfast and basically- you really can't screw up breakfast and they did NOT so I was happy. Don't expect gourmet coffee or fancy digs- expect to be caffeinated, have a nice experience and leave with a full stomach.

We stayed at the Hotel and had arrived as a deluge hit.We decided against going out again due to the heavy rain and limited visibility. We didn't even see the cool sign until after we finished dinner. We had a good meal with some local beers and of course pie,to go! The wait staff was very pleasant even though it was... More

Really your stopping because the sign is hilarious! The food is typical diner food, nothing special, we stopped for breakfast on our way to Bryce and it was good, plentiful and not overpriced. Just what you expect in a diner. The history and family stories are great and it's at a perfect stopping point, just what you need.

Unlike the hotel it is next to, this restaurant is a disappointment. The french toast tasted like buttered bread. The staff was slow to seat its guests. The omelette was relatively unremarkable. While there aren't too many options in Mount Carmel, it may be good to venture outside this hotel's property and explore other options.

At the junction in Mt Carmel is the Thunderbird Restaurant and you pass it on the way to Zion National park or going to Bryce National park and make the stop. They seem more like an old diner to me where they specialize in great old fashion pies and meals like Grilled Liver what was very good by the way... More

Wes stopped in for some Pie and ice cream. It was very good and the service was excellent. Would defiantly like to stop there again for an entire meal. The place was quite busy for the mid day during the very late season.

The Thunderbird Cafe is nearly the only place to eat in Mt Carmel. It is certainly the largest, nicest and is attached to the gas station and gift store. In fact the Thunderbird/Best Western complex seems to the the majority of the town. I had an excellent trout almondine with garlic mashed potatoes for dinner and apple pie with butter... More

As in "Wow!, what a crappy southwestern salad!". My wife DID tell me not to order a southwestern salad in a non-southwestern state, but did I listen? do I ever ask for directions? don't be silly. The salad was prepared by a cook whose only proximity to the real thing must have been a list of the ingredients; yes, the... More
