The staff at Thunderbird were nice, which is why I feel a little guilty writing this. But they did not have a good handle on professional service. When we showed up they told us it would be a 15 minute wait, even though there were 4 empty tables for every one full. No worries - maybe they didn't have enough... More

The hamburgers were good. The french fries were good, but the four of us decided to split a couple of slices of pie. Yep! Now we know why they're famous for their Ho made pie.

Obviously, their "ho-made pies" sign is part of the draw. We usually don't have dessert at restaurants, so to insure that we could have some pie here, the husband and I split a chicken salad sandwich. The sandwich was very good. But really, it was all about dessert. I had the hot apple pie with a warm caramel bourbon sauce... More

Thunderbird has a solid, all-American, big breakfast for the hungry. While it is on the high end of pricing, it was well-prepared and there was lots of it. Great coffee, friendly and attentive staff. I didn't need to eat again until evening after a day of vigorous hiking. I recommend it for the ravenous.

We had dinner here on our first night in Mt. Carmel. Quick drive from our accommodations at The Arrowhead Country Inn. Family style dining. Good food, good service, good value! It was the perfect spot to eat and relax after a day of driving.

The cucumbers in the salad bar where yellow. The chicken gumbo did not have chicken or rice. The roast beef dinner was straight from the grocery deli and kids meals are overpriced. Waitress was nice, other than that, we will not be stopping here again. fyi everything was overpriced.

Who would expect much from a restaurant linked with a gas station? But they have been there since 1931, and run a great restaurant. Side salads and soups are self serve from a full salad bar!!!! So not just a bowl of lettuce! Meals are good, but ask your server which ones are home made and which are from "restaurant... More

Good food, excellent waitress. Ate there around 10 in the morning and although they were busy, service was fairly quick. Food was delivered hot and as ordered.

The food was fine. Good, yummy, filling, etc. Waiter was attentive. No complaints. The real review is about pie. Chocolate pie, to be exact. My daughters are allergic to nuts and can NEVER have desert in public - NEVER. But, at the Thunderbird, they make all their pies from scratch. They are truly ho-made, not produced in some factory where... More

To get everyone's obvious question answered first, their pies rival any selection I've ever at Junior's in NYC. I ordered the Strawberry Rhubarb Pie. Heavenly! My wife opted for the Apple Pie With Hot Rum Sauce. She loved it. Oh yes, we both took ours a la mode - a must in order to "complete" the experience! The food was... More
