The staff dug up a candle for my husband and sang a hearty happy birthday. the food was surprisingly good. the pie was fine. the view ideal. this is not a michelin-star destination. the service was lovely but unprofessional. but we wouldn't of changed a thing

We ordered both of the house specials, the green chile stew and the red chile posole, along with the Clint Eastwood fried chicken. By the time it arrived both the stew and the posole were lukewarm, as if they had been ready for a while. The green chile stew lacked any flavour and seemed as if they had forgotten to... More

We were here for breakfast after driving from Lake Powell. The breakfast was served buffet style. Some of the trays were empty. There were 100 people reaching in to grab their food. This is just not my idea of dining. I would eat before you arrive if possible. Even peanut butter and jelly. The view is nice however. One more... More

We stayed here overnight at the view hotel (which is lovely) and had dinner at the restaurant. The service was faultless and it was great to have a chance to taste the local food which was really tasty. The menu has standard options too and caters for kids. Well worth a visit if you are spending the afternoon at monument... More

My husband and I ate here once during our 2-night stay at The View. My husband had the Green Chile Stew. He said it was very good. He had the same meal the next day at Goulding's. I could see it didn't look the same as what he had here at The View. He said The View's Green Chile Stew... More

Navaho Chicken soup dish was under seasoned if seasoned at all, chicken was dried out in a clear broth with potatoes. Terrible. Menu selection isn't great. Salad bar is expensive and no discount to add to your children's meals. There weren't many people in there and yet they sat us farther from the huge windows which overlook the valley although... The cuisine at The View Restaurant is mix of American, Mexican and Navajo preparations. Our menu choices included chips and salsa, buffalo wings, Navajo taco sampler and a cheese quesadilla. All except the quesadilla were disappointing. My overall rating of this restaurant is "average" (generous) and the food is something less than that, depending upon what you select. The wonderful... In an earlier review from 2013 I have criticized The View Restaurant for not allowing customers to use the tables on the large terrace outside. If you want food you must sit inside. The view is still great, but sitting inside does not compare with being under the open sky. When in July 2014 I had the opportunity to visit... More

The food is typical American, with some Mexican, and some with Navajo influence. While the food is adequate, the view is fantastic. If you're looking for an adult beverage, you won't find one on the Navajo reservation so you'd better bring it with you and keep it in your hotel room.

We stayed in the hotel and since there is nothing else around we had dinner at the restaurant, which was totally disappointing. The service was friendly, but did not really seem to know what they were doing. The soup we could pick up at the salad bar as a starter tasted like an instant soup. Unfortunately they didn't provide spoons... More
