great western atmosphere and foo was very good

The hotel we stayed at recommended the Line Camp for dinner. We went with some skepticism but ended up really enjoying our meal and with a nice bottle of wine too!

Absolutely great food, if you go away hungry from this place there is something wrong. Bob is your friendly host and cook, and has all the interesting history of the area, and is willing to sit with you and tell you all about it. Ask Bob to show you his photograph album, you will be surprised at what is in... More

During our stay in Monticello, we googled restaurants in the area. We found the Line Camp Steakhouse and decided to give it a try....we were so glad we did! The staff was wonderful....the food excellent....my husband had a ribeye steak and I had cedar plank salmon....they were both cooked perfectly! The owner made it a point to connect with everyone... My husband & I were enjoying another wonderful camping trip in Canyonlands NP & we wanted a nice dinner out to celebrate our anniversary. The closest town was Monticello & when we googled restaurants in that area, we found the Line Camp Steak House which sounded perfect - and it was! What fun! We both had the grilled Salmon on... We used to love this place and went every week one summer. We have the menu memorized, but have needed neither memory nor menu as we prefer it when Bob is cooking. How does one know before driving 7-8 miles to find out? Or if they're even open on a specific evening - we've driven all the way out there... More

What you are really paying for is the ambiance of the restuarant. The food was very good just extremely expensive. It was on par with a applebees just twice the cost.

This is suppose to be a fine dinning restaurant, but it's far from it except for the outrages prices. $30 for a 12oz steak and sides that taste reheated and old. The atmosphere is really old fashioned and needs to be updated. This may be considered fine dining if I was a cowboy on the range for the last 20... More

Line Camp is located about 7 miles north of Monticello. My only regret about the place is we didn't stay in one of their rooms! The steaks were good enough, however, that went ate there two nights. The service was superb, the owner, Bob, is a one-of-a-kind, no-nonsense guy, the setting is comfortable, and our meals were perfect. While you... More
