Tasty food, pleasant staff, go here.

We ate here twice this week: The trout was great both times, the shepherd's pie was tasty, the puff pastry on the chicken pot pie was magnificent. The local Utah hard cider was a plus. The staff were mostly professional; there were a couple of new ones who had yet to master the difference... read more

Had a quick dinner. I had the Irish Burger, my wife had the pulled pork. Both were fantastic. Service was fast and friendly!!

The staff was very accommodating even though we showed up 20 minutes til closing time. The waitress was very friendly & patient as we perused the menu, being tourists and all. Food was very good, nice portion size & not overpriced IMHO. Will definitely return if we visit the Layton area again in the future.

I have been back to this place many times, food is always delicious, and the whole atmosphere sets everyone into a great mood. The owner himself roams around to chat with you and see if you need anything. Very friendly, and an insane amount of beer to choose from. From the tables to the walls, this Irish place has it... I had the "Char grilled salmon of knowledge". On their website it is one of the menu items featured in the picture and it looks delicious. I ordered it medium rare. It was well done and when I took my first bite and all I could taste was burnt food. I flipped over my salmon and it was literally black.... More

Ordered a glass ofhouse cabernet and our server said "you want the taberet" I said what so she'd repeat it. Kinda of funny. Nothing is over the top but it is a good alternative to the norm with some good food. I ordered lamb and all four adults said it tastes like roast beef. Good roast but definitely doesn't taste... Nice variety of beers to choose from. Pierogies were a nice start to the meal, we then enjoyed Shepards Pie and I mean thoroughly enjoyed! Service a bit on the slow side but everything else was delicious.

Sorry I tired the fish and chips you know a simple dish, the fish was slightly burnt on the outside and the texture was raw on the inside, the chips well they really should check them for bruises before frying and serving.

Our family (hubby, myself and our two young daughters) went in for lunch on a Saturday afternoon because it was a short walk across the street from the hotel we were staying in. The food was good - Irish burger, Maple Blarney salad and the kids loved the Mac and cheese wedges. The kids portions were tiny, regular item portions... More

This is my nephew's favorite place in UT and we met him here in April. Very fun staff, delicious food, great place to eat w/ family, friends. Take some time to look at the décor. This is a local favorite you can certainly tell this by number of people who come in to enjoy Mac Cool's.
