We went for breakfast with a LARGE group. The service was wonderful and the menu had a good variety of choices. I had a Gyro omelette with feta which was good. They served me potatoes instead of hashbrowns like I ordered but we did have lots of people, so no worries. The scone with honey butter was AWESOME! I highly... More

We typically go to Moon Dogs for breakfast or lunch and it's always been great. We decided to go for dinner on Saturday. It was a holiday weekend but we were still surprised that there were only two other couples there. We started out trying to order a few beers and that didn’t go well (See below). We came real... I liken Moon Dog's Cafe to a Sill's Cafe with a extended burger and barbeque menu. The staff is friendlier than Sill's in my opinion and the burger options and fantastic barbeque make it a cut above. If you're local or just passing through and want to experience a good local joint. GO! Homemade chips accompany every sandwich/burger entree and... More

It's a good home cooked style meal for the prices, like other cafes in Layton everyone goes for the scones. We sat down and ate once along with gotten Togo a few times. They have great biscuits and gravely. They don't really have anything for a unique platter and if they did I didn't try it but I definitely enjoyed... More

I was traveling to the area, and wandered out one morning with my partner for some breakfast. Although from the outside, it seemed a little "sketchy" (in regards to where I am from), we still decided to go in and eat. The people are incredibly friendly, and in the span of a week we visited about six times. The scone... More

The wait staff was very friendly. It felt more like lunch at a family members house rather than a restaurant. Nice variety of down home favorites and a few specialty items. The fried potato chips are amazing. I can't wait to go back and try the red hot hot dog

We eat at Moon Dog's every Saturday morning after volunteering for Bountiful Baskets....so about 7AM. Service is excellent, generous portions and tasty food. We haven't tried dinner yet, but hear it is quite good.

I recently tried this restaurant based upon the previous Tripadvisor reviews. While the huge majority of the reviews were positive, I still had some doubts. I live in the area, drive by this location frequently, and had some doubts that this eatery could be very good based upon location and the size of the facility. I admit that I was... More

The pulled pork sandwich is really good. The home made chips the best. I tried the brisket nachos. They were ok. There were to many fresh bell peppers and raw onions. It is a good place to eat.

It's a different kinda cafe. They have great BBQ but I recommend breakfast. This place is pretty good. You should enjoy the drive up there and pig out on BBQ or breakfast.
