Fits the Bill for Good Ribs

Had the chance to try the ribs at Holy Smoke in Layton UT. I was pleasantly surprised at the great smoke ring and perfect amount of fall off the bone flavor. The potato salad was light with the perfect amount of dill. The house beans were a bit on the tomato taste side, not bad but I like... read more

Having grown up in the south and attended college in Tx it is hard to find good barbeque that is actually smoked, instead of boiled and slathered w/smoke flavored sauce. After reading all the reviews I was really looking forward to trying out Holy Smoke. We arrived after lunch and were taking longer than the cashier wanted so she sighed... More

Man, this place is good. It's a million times better than Famous Dave's or Dick's. The food is fresh and tasty. Loved the homemade applesauce as well. Definitely recommend this place!

This is one of the best eateries I have eaten at! The food is delicious and hand prepared. We ate there for lunch and to see the locals come in gave us a feel of warmth. The owner interacts with the people and they seem to really feel comfortable there! I can see why this place is always busy!

I've been here many times now on just about every visit I make to Layton. I have to say that while I never really associate good BBQ with UT, the get it right. They have a very wide selection of traditional BBQ meats with all the traditional sides. If you like BBQ you will probably like Holy Smoke.

After reading all the glowing reviews, the wife and I decided to give it a try. We ordered a couple of meat plates. Quarter chicken with fried okra and cut corn. Brisket with jalapeno bites and potato salad. When our food arrived the smokey aroma was awesome and we thought we were in for a real treat. Sadly both the... More

While staying in the area, the name of this place caught my eye and I thought I would give it a try. On a Wednesday night at 6:30, the place was moderately busy with couples, friends, young ladies and good old boys. The restaurant is “decorated” with cowboy themed paraphernalia and the staff was very friendly. The manager made a... More

This restaurant is right across the street from the Hilton Garden Inn that I was staying at, so I walked over for dinner. I was surprised when I got to the restaurant because one of the previous reviews said you could wear jeans but it was a nice steak house. If your wear anything nicer than jeans, you will be... More

The pulled pork and ribs were smoked correctly and had good flavor, if they would just serve them hot rather than barely warmed they would be a lot better. The place is kept clean and the service is very good. All of the side dishes were tasty (and consierbly hotter than the meat). They have a wide selection of sauces... More

I would put the food taste equal to Famous Dave’s and quality of food and atmosphere more in line with a nice restaurant. You can still come in jeans but it is a nice steak house style restaurant. Prices are mid-range and staff has always been nice although never outstanding. A good alternative if you want something new…may or may... More
