stopped in around 7:30 on a Thursday night. The food was excellent, the only issue was that it was apparent that they weren't real busy and were trying to get ready to wind down for the evening. Felt like i was slowing them down. That said the ribs and the pulled pork were excellent.

Lived here four years and never went in the place...finally did and I've been back 6 times in the past month or so. It's a little out of my way, or I would eat there more often. I highly recommend the turkey sandwich on Mon-Wed and the tri-tip on Tues-Thurs lunch specials - you won't be disappointed!

I had a good pulled pork dinner here with two sides, cornbread and green jello (complimentary on the jello). The BBQ was nicely smoked, tasty and a good portion. They have about a dozen different BBQ sauces to try. Free peanuts to eat while you wait. Nothing fancy but a good dinner option in Layton for fair prices.

Great place to eat with over-stuffed sandwiches, great sides, and fast service with slow cooked barbecue. Rated highly in the SLC area we had to check it out and we were rewarded with our efforts. Numerous choices of sauces from mild to spicy with names like, 'Better than your Honeymoon', which was definitely the sweetest. We are sorry we'd are... More

Loved the self serve sauces, you could try several different samples to find your favorite, very good flavors.

The brisket is chopped. It has a nice amount of smoke and moist too. The same can be said for the pulled pork. Hush puppies are different and delicious. The baked beans were too sweet and has either rotella salsa or pimento mixed into them. As other have mentioned, the Mac n cheese was a little gritty. The sauces were... More

We love Holy Smokes BBQ. We've done both dine in, take out, and catering for a party we hosted. Every time, I am reminded of just how delish this place is. The only thing I wouldn't recommend is the green jello in the kids' meals because it always melts on the way home.

I first discovered Holy Smoke on Antelope Island. They had a stand during a cowboy poetry festival and the food was incredible. Then found out they had a restaurant we went the next day. For me what makes a great BBQ joint stand out is the sauce. They create their own sauces and all are incredible. If you love good... More

Being a chef, and someone from the south who is always looking for great BBQ, my mother suggested we try this establishment. I have to say that north of Utah county this is the best you will find. They offer generous portions, moist, tender meats, and tasty sauces. The staff is super friendly, and it has always been a great... More

I will never give a bad review to a bbq joint that not only offers fried okra, but hush puppies as well! Tried the brisket and catfish. Brisket was a little dry but still good with some bbq sauce. Catfish was outstanding!
