Good lunches and fun old movies in a fun atmosphere.

We had a nice lunch is lovely, old-fashioned surrounding where hundreds of Hollywood stars of the 40's and 50's came to stay and make movies. Great old big barn behind the lodge runs those movies nightly and they are free! Fun to do one evening.

We went to the coffee shop twice for breakfast and were not disappointed. Their 3 berry jam (homemade) is great! Their meals are enough to share. Enjoyed a western omelet on the first visit and the pancakes, eggs and sausage on the second. The pancakes were so amazingly fluffy. The wait staff are so very friendly and accommodating and it's... Good food is you can get some. The wait staff are inattentive. They disappear back into the kitchen and do not come out for ten minutes at a time. Do they do the cooking too? No coffee refills. No Soft drink refills. No timely check. No service. I am not a hurry-up-and-wait-on-me diner but this is the worst I have... More

I grew up in the place, my mother worked the front desk in during the 1960-70s. I worked there in 1970 when the old order, instituted by the founder Whit Parry, was still in place. It has been through many changes since then and now is owned by the same concessionaire that has the Bryce Canyon Lodge. I wandered through... More

liked the food quality above average to very good. waitress and hostess were friendly. For some reason the cook was raising his voice and venting and being rude to hostess and waitress about having to cook more breakfast and quit taking orders. This was on the restaurant floor in front of everyone. He made my wife uncomfortable. He continued near... More

We stopped in for the breakfast buffet on a Thursday and it was okay. The diced potatoes were rock hard everything else was fair. I liked the atmosphere - kind of old-timey. The hotel looks nice and I think we'll stay there the next time we're in town. I'd definitely try the restaurant again and order off the menu.

Hundreds of feature films and tv shows have been filmed in and around Kanab, beginning as far back as 1924. The Parry Brothers were instrumental in bringing droves of actors and production companies into town and built the Lodge some 80+ years ago to house and entertain the famous visitors. Today the Lodge has a great collection of photos on... More

Our tour bus stopped off in Kanab on a Sunday and the rep ,having told us most places would be closed, had arranged for the group to eat at a cowboy lunch stop just outside town.My wife and I called in here and saw the simple menu, pork chops ,potatoes and veg with apple sauce,$7 .We ditched the bus and with 2... Forget this place if you are solo, older woman! To get service at a slow time of day required repeated asks, although once staff finally realized I was there waitress was friendly and returned to offer coffee refill. Omelet was ordinary, fruit was fresh & tasty, coffee was decent. No cream - only artificial non-dairy white stuff - yuk!!
