Love the FREE cornbread and friendly staff. Super nice campground out back! And they give a discount if you stay at Whispering Sands Motel.

After swearing to never eat at another place without checking the reviews... I couldn't check, no cell service in the area! I found out after the fact that they will share their wifi password... good since we couldn't get cell service for days. We chose this restaurant mainly based on how well they kept their property up. Clean out front... More

Our hotel manager suggested this spot even though we had to drive about 18 miles one way to get here... it was worth the trip! Good food and good service in a clean, well lit, rustic atmosphere. We enjoyed the cornbread muffins with honey and they kept our water glasses filled while our food was being prepared. We would stop... More

During our stay in Hanksville, Utah, we had breakfast at Duke's, not-descript on the outside but great western interior. Both dishes had huge portions, like beyond truck stop huge. I had biscuits & gravy, scrambled eggs, and hash browns (see photo). These biscuits were the largest biscuits that I have ever been served in a restaurant, about 4" in diameter,... More

There isn't much between Moab and Capital Reef -- we hit Hanksville right at lunchtime and stopped at Duke's. We had locals and tourists traveling through all in the restaurant. It is worth the stop. The burgers and fries were good. My son had their special soup (cheesy chicken quesidilla soup in a bread bowl) and said it was just... More

Usually, in small towns, you get some very mediocre food, occasionally some good pie, but they are often very forgettable meals. At SlickRock Grill, the food was obviously made with a lot of love. Careful execution of dishes, big flavors, fresh ingredients. Everything I had was delicious and the service was very friendly. This is a a great restaurant!

For a town of only 250 people, they sure know how to provide great food and a friendly family atmosphere. We were very pleased with the staff and quality of food.

Duke's was a nice surprise in this very very small community with two hotels and not much more. The service was excellent, the food was prepared perfectly, the atmosphere was fun. We did not use the camping facilities, but they are very nice. If we did camp, I would certainly use the Campground facilities. Definitely plan on stopping there if... More

There are only a couple options in Hanksville and while we hadn't the opportunity to review the others, this one was great. Our party of four had a steak, ribs, trout, and Nacho's for an entree and all had complements. The place is clean, simply decorated and had friendly service. The bathrooms were clean as well. The namesake is in... More

It's always a gamble to choose something in a small town on the way somewhere else, but this was a highlight of our day. We left Capitol Reef hungry and tired and hoping to find something nice. This was just that. Nice, clean atmosphere and the service was excellent- friendliest waitress during our whole trip. (Short brown hair-name?). We had... More
