We liked it !

This place surprised me. There isn't much in this town and we were hungry so we tried this place. We all got the combo meal with burger, fries, and shake. The burgers were very good made with nice bread and meat, but no tomatoes. I like tomatoes, but my son doesn't-not a deal breaker. The... read more

Our Budget rental car - a Jeep Grand Cherokee - broke at the border between Wayne and Garfield County ( it could not be started because the key fob was not recognized any more). We were brought to Silver Eagle Gas Station and Stan's Burger Shack by helpful deputy sheriffs. The people at shack and Station were extremly kind and... More

Pleasant place to stop for a quick meal. Average burger and fries. Good milk shake. There is convenient store next door with the regular fare. Amusing little sayings on the walls and ceilings.

Stan's was an excellent dining spot! Quick and easy to grab something to eat while passing through Hanksville. Busy when we stopped in line was almost out the door. But food came quickly. Enjoyed a burger and shake when heading to Capitol Reef NP.

Our party of four stayed at the Whispering Sands next door. Stan's was close enough to walk to. It's attached to a gas station/quick mart, which draws the boating crowd from Lake Powell. When we walked in the place was nearly full with families. We ordered hamburgers and fries with shakes! The shakes were wonderful after a long day on... More

If you happen to know where on Earth, Hanksville (UT) is, a tiny town with merely 200 souls, you probably know about Stan's Burger Shack. And if you don't then you should. If you travel across the desolate area between Canyonlands and Capitol Reef National Parks, or you are on route to Lake Powell, Hankswille is one place where you... More

In the middle of nowhere we were really hungry. So glad we stopped here since there wasn't food for miles afterwards. Not much to look at from the outside, but inside was very nice. A extensive "fast food" menu, which seemed to be made fresh was found. But their famous shakes you needed to eat with a spoon. I had... More

Understanding that Hanksville is a tiny oasis in the middle of some very inhospitable country, with many, many miles until the next outposts of civilization, it nevertheless offers some genuine pleasantries. Stan's Burger Shack offers a great "Stans burger" that, with the jalapeno option, is a savory combination of savory and sweet. I plan to have another next year on... More

My wife had the fish & chips. The fish was so overcooked that they were dark brown. She couldn't eat them. I had the chicken tenders which weren't anything special but at least weren't overcooked.
