A very pleasant meal

Green River appeared quiet on the Monday evening of our visit. A few trucks idling outside our motel, a few bikers and other vehicles passing through on the main drag, around sunset, as we pulled into Ray's. I was with overseas guests on a road trip – and they were commenting – how can a place... read more

Arrived in Green River after 400+ mile drive from Vegas. Hotel receptionist recommended Ray's Tavern for dinner. So glad she did. Service from our waitress Stacey was fantastic. Great customer service and really efficient. So friendly. Steaks were cooked to perfection. We have been in USA for 10 nights and eaten at several places costing double the price but nowhere... Even though there is nothing fancy about Ray's Tavern it is always a planned stop whenever travelling near Green River because they make great burgers and fries. This is not a place for exotic add-on. It's all about getting a nice burger served on a toasted bun, aside crispy fries, and along with a cold drink. River running is the... More

We have now enjoyed several dinners after our Desolation Canyon river trips. They serve a mighty burger (1/2 pound) and several other meals that suit our taste for "river rats"! The fries are delicious too! You can be seated inside to enjoy a nice cool temperature or can continue to enjoy the outside temps with seating for many family members... More

I have heard that their burgers are the best, so when I came through town on my way to Moab I figured I'd stop in for lunch. I was alone, so I sat at the bar. The wait staff was great, and kept me full of Pepsi. I ordered the cheeseburger with fries. It tasted exactly like a cheeseburger and... More

Having never been to Green River, I asked the motel clerk for a dinner suggestion and she did not hesitate a moment and said: Ray's Tavern. My companion and I walked two miles from the motel to get to Ray's. From the outside it looked like a local tavern/pub. While inside one could instantly see that it was a very... More

Ray's is a staple of Green River with great burgers and is the only place in town to get beer on tap. They have a great internet connected jukebox with all genres of music and free pool. As a local, this is the place that I take visitors to see the river running history (displayed in large photos and lots... More

It was very busy when we came but were seated quickly and friendly. The beer was cold, the food hot and plenty and the overall experience good. We loved all the different Tshirts, signs, jokes and decorations. When you re hungry and need a place to eat in Green River Go To Ray's !

Not many places to eat in Green River and don't be confused by the "Tavern" in the name. Couldn't even get a cocktail and the server was rude and insulted that we were surprised to find they had no alcohol (limited beer only). Food was decent, but crappy attitude by server left us with a no recommend!
