Pleasantly surprised

I knew we were going to stay overnight in Green River so I looked at the TripAdvisor reviews. There didn't seem to be much and the Tamarisk looked like the best of a mediocre lot. The restaurant is not inviting to look at--you know, hard tabletops, no tablecloths, plastic menus, etc. About what... read more

I always seem to need a place to eat when traveling through this area. Green River is a good place to stay and eat. This restaurant has wonderful river views. It is clean and the service is very good. The seats next to the window how ever are metal and on this day were very cold. It was 19 degrees... More

Stopped for dinner on our way through town. Great decor and view of the river! Seated and given menus. Great salad bar. Only serve local wines - not a fan. Took a bit to get main entrees but they were hot and had good flavor. Stopped here because of 4.5 star rating. Not sure if I will again.

This place was very close to where I was staying and I arrived early for breakfast. The restaurant looks very nice and modern inside and has a great view of the river. The waitress was really friendly and welcoming. I had the huevos rancheros, which were fresh and clean tasting, with black beans, hash browns and salad (unusually with olives)... More

Wow! What a pleasant surprise to find this gem on a road trip through Utah. Great food with clean, well thought out decor. Love the big windows with views of the river and sunset. Very refreshing to find a local place serving high quality food in the middle of mostly chain restaurants. Thanks!!

When you drive by the Tamarisk restaurant you might think 'I'm hungry, and I'm tired of being on the road, this will be a quick uneventful stop', but be prepared to feel like you just stepped into the coolest place in town/or 300 miles! The decor inside is very modern and fun, but the real action starts when the food... More

While the food was okay (though just okay), the service was lacking. It took a good 30 minutes to get our food, and we had to remind the waitress to bring the rest of our food, which took another 5 minutes. She never once checked on us after that except to bring the check. We were there for almost 90... More

I drive through southern Utah a couple times a year and am always less than impressed with the food options but Tamarisk was an awesome find! The food was very good and they had many healthy options (which can be hard to find in the area). The building itself is very cute and the location on the river is a... More
