Driving along Hwy 12 on east side of Escalante, you encounter a gravel drive with a sign for the restaurant out in the middle of no where. Park up on the bluff and walk down the hill to a beautiful wood and stone building tucked into the hillside. There are two private units for rent here: the Sunrise and the... More

Located on Hwy 12, your view from the window side tables are the colorful views of Escalante. Kiva offers a variety of coffees including the coffee of the week. The pastries and desserts are homemade, and there is a small but big on taste breakfast menu. This is a nice stop before or after your hike or if you're traveling... More

It's right off the road to Boulder in a beautiful spot overlooking the gorgeous views. The food was really good and the patio is really sweet.

We were clued in about this little place by the nice lady at the Escalante Visitors Center. I'm so glad she did. We stopped just as a large group of people on a motorcycle tour arrived so we had to wait quite a while to order, and for our food to arrive, but it was soooo worth it. I am... More

Stretch your legs and have something to drink! The view is phenomenal. The coffee / lemonade prices are very reasonable. I think everything is under $4. Make sure you also have a chocolate chip cookie: $1. We almost weren't going to stop cause I thought this place is in the middle of nowhere it's going to be pricey. Not at... More

Definitely worth a stop. We had just done a longish walk from the escalente trailhead so a reviving coffee with delicious fresh cake was much appreciated.

We stayed one night at the cottage. We reserved both rooms. The pictures on here are very deceiving. I was expecting a dirty lodge type room but they are actually very nice. Its just that the light doesn't reflect in the pictures. The floors are nice tiles, the bathroom is really nice and even noticed the towels are high quality.... More

We stopped here on our drive on Highway 12 and did not regret it. It's a dreamy little place in the scenic Escalante landscape, they offer nice coffee and other refreshing, homemade drinks and snacks, also sell locally made jewellery and ceramics, with a beautiful canyon view and a cosy feel indoor and outdoor, on a terrace. Definitely worth a... More

What a gem! The kiva offers outdoor seating (or indoor) with 360 degrees of breathtaking beauty. The breakfast was not very memorable, but we would definitely return for coffee and the view! Thanks Kiva.
