Excellent surprise on the way to Bryce

Stopped by to look at the menu and ended up spending the night so we could have both dinner and breakfast! Excellent staff, amazingly fresh & delicious food and a wonderful craft cocktail. Our son found some friends and ran all over the field before dinner came. On our way to breakfast now.

Drove past it and went back because it looked interesting, what a find. Its a first class restaurant with a interesting menu and great food. My wife loved their cook book and bought four for gifts. The staff was wonderful.

This restaurant would be great anywhere. The fact that it is in the middle of nowhere central Utah in an amazing setting just adds to the charm. We were there for opening night 2015 and had one of the best meals of the year. No detail is overlooked, from the nuanced sauces, to the finely-prepared and balanced salad, delicious soup,... More

We heard about this restaurant. When we first pasted by it was closed for the season (day after Thanskgiving to mid-March.) We got lucky on route from Bryce Canyon Natl Park to Capitol Reef Natl Park. Boulder is on the path along St.Hwy 12 - a scenic route. The food we had at Hell's Backbone was fresh and tasty. Since... We really had an awesome time in this magic place. Great food, pet friendly and awesome atmosphere. Yes...this is in the middle of nowhere...and full of Eco tourism. We love it! Unforgettable honeymoon. We'll definitely come back next summer!

Had dinner the day before Thanksgiving there. It was really delicious! Then came Thanksgiving dinner! Is was wonderful. So personal with everything served organically grown on the owner's farm. Owner's took great pride. I lost track of the number of courses served family style. It was not an inexpensive dinner (I think about $100+ per person) but it was an... More

This place is nothing short of delicious in every way! The food is so fresh and tasty, and the staff was very friendly. This place is romantic, with candlelight and in middle of nowhere. What a treat for the people who live in Boulder and for those who are just passing through! Would love to go back again as our... More

The regular menu is a feast of locally grown organic vegetables and delicious entrées. We have gone many times over the past several years and the quality and service never fail to surpass our expectations. The staff are delightful and the new liquor license makes it a place to linger longer! We especially love the new open hours for lunch... More

Jen and Blake continue to run a restaurant worthy of their many accolades from reviewers around the world. They FINALLY got a liquor license [after waiting 15 yrs!] and now stay open until the end of November and serve Thanksgiving dinner. We were doing to dine here on the holiday, but our travel plans changed and we ended up having... More
