Server was super friendly and over and above helpful! Food was great and reasonably priced. Only restaurant in town, so glad it was great!

Great little hometown diner. Food and service were good. I'll always support places like this, as they give people in the small community a place to work and a place to eat away from home occasionally. They also seem to do a good job at running the business. I enjoyed the local small town feel of it. Much better than... More

This place has been on my list of restaurants to visit for a long time. So while I was visiting Capitol Reef National Park, I knew I needed to take a little detour to Bicknell. I had already had dinner somewhere else that day, so I bought a piece of pinto bean, pickle, buttermilk, and oatmeal pie to eat for... More

Hosting is remarkable. The reception is welcoming even late in a cold night in January. This is an honest, unpretentious family restaurant. You do not go there for a culinary experience except for their pies that are very exceptional. The pinto bean pie is one of the best pies I have eaten in all my life. The gentleness of the... More

We were recommended to this cafe by a volunteer at Capitol Reef National Park - can't imagine what he was thinking! Easily the worst food experience in southern Utah. Nothing was made on-site just frozen food heated with a microwave. We were sitting 15 feet from the open kitchen - not a sign of anyone working there, not a sound... More

You heard me correctly.Have been stopping here for decades to enjoy their unique dessert pies. You can eat off the floor here and the staff is very friendly. I have only tried their Pinto bean pie and pickle pie. Pickle mis like mince meat and pinto is hard to explain but the pinto bean pie is my favorite! You just... More

Just a few minutes from spectacular Capitol Reef National Monument is Sunglow Cafe in Bicknell, UT. Sunglow is famous for its totally unique pies--pickle, pinto bean, buttermilk, and oatmeal. You should try a sample of each--at least once--just for conversation-starters in the future. (Recipes are available online). But there is more to life than pie. Their main course offerings are... The breakfast menu was normal and fair priced. Good taste and portions for the prices. The dinner we had was just okay. We ate our dinner the next day at another Cafe.

This is a great place to eat. The menu had both country and tex mex food...both of which were great! This was recommended by the Aquarius hotel.

We went here to have dinner after reading the reviews about there pies. We were the only ones in the restaurant so the service was very fast. The food itself is not very special. We have the grilled chicken salad and a grilled chicken with mashed potatoes. It was nice but the best thing came after, the pie sampler. The... More
