Owner always makes sure I enjoyed my food, every visit. I go at least twice a week. The food is fantastic (pulled pork sandwich is the way to go!) nice quiet restaurant. Very comfortable place to be. Be sure to try it!

This place has been around forever. The owner/manager/cook is always there and tries for variation in the menu. Prices are good, service is food, and the food is usually very good. (Every now and then an attempt at innovation doesn't work). Simple but clean. Good place to eat.

We enjoyed our brisket, sausage and BBQ chicken. The beans served with our meal were super yummy too. The service was excellent, walk-up service. Meat and side portions were plenty to satisfy my husband and myself.

I stop in here a lot when I want good BBQ or have friends from out of town who want something authentically Texan. My Chicago friends said that it was the best BBQ they have ever eaten. I do LOVE the brisket because it's not too fatty and the cole slaw because it's not too vinegar-y or too heavy with... More

We enjoyed the BBQ and glad we stopped in at the Tourist Information to find out about it. Folks at Mae's were very friendly

Not great BBQ. We've eaten here on vacations at least once a year for 7 years. It's ok, not great. Seems like it went down a bit on this last visit. Really liked the bbq stuffed baked potato in the past.

We were out exploring The Hill Country when hunger set in and we began to search for a place to eat. I'm not quite sure why we stopped here, but we did. Now I freely admit, I'm not a Texan so I am not an authority on Texas BBQ. But the four of us agreed unanimously that the food here... More

The owner's grandmother started this business in Downtown Wimberly and he has done a good job of keeping it alive. The atmosphere is "Rustic Texan". The barbecue was outstanding! Potato Salad was a little dry - but the barbecue more than made up for it. They don't serve beer :(

There are several "legendary" BBQ's in the Hill country. That and the fact that most Texas guys are BBQ legends in their own minds make it hard for a 'just real good' local place to survive much less thrive. Miss Maes has very good food, pleasant folks serving you an unpretentious atmosphere and good prices. I am a Wimberley local... More
