Traveling through.....Weatherford, TX

This little mom and pop place is a little bit out of the way, but not too far...it took is about 15 minutes to get there from the hotel, and I was 8 the mood for some fish fry. Worth the drive, plus there's numerous ranch houses to gaze upon and look at on the way. The catfish was seasoned... read more

Ordered the all-you-can-eat catfish and butterfly shrimp with baked potato and pinto beans. Fish was not fishy, and cooked properly. I normally wouldn't order shrimp in a country cafe, but since it was a combo plate, I knew I could stick with the catfish if the shrimp wasn't up to par. Granted, it was not fresh out of the gulf,... This is what Texas cafe food is all about! Big portions of home style meals. Great fried fish and chicken fried steak.

We went to Mary's again for the 2nd time and it was just as great as the 1st. I had Chicken Fried Steak, Corn and Mashed Potatoes. The wife had Chicken & Dumplings, Corn and Mashed Potatoes. It was awesome! We ride motorcycles so we cruise these country roads often. This has now been put on our regular stop list... More

Mary's Brazos Café is just a short drive down the road from home and that is good because I LOVE THEIR CATFISH!!! Always delicious, served fresh and hot with sides that will make your mouth water. The prices are great too. Mix all that up with super friendly service and it's a winner! I recommend Mary's to all. You will... More

Mary's is one of my favorite breakfast places. Service is fast and friendly. No matter how I order breakfast, it is always prepared perfectly....my weakness is eggs-over-easy, bacon crisp, hash browns and biscuit and gravy.....definitely not a low-cal meal. Lunch is also a great experience....pure home cooking....pot roast, chicken fried steak, BBQ, Mexican food....depends on what day you visit. I... More

Staff is always friendly and food is consistently good. We have tried just about everything on the menu and have not been disappointed with anything. Although there is a non-smoking section, when they are busy, it can be a little smokey. They have some of the best onion rings we have ever eaten. Prices are also very reasonable and breakfast... I've driven from Fort Worth to eat here. The food is traditional southern made the old fashioned way. The prices are better than average and lunch specials can;t be beat. I highly recommend the the chicken fried chicken. Laid back atmosphere and wonderful service. Doesn't disappoint!

We went there on a Wednesday afternoon. The place is small and cozy. Clean and very friendly. The lunch special (not on the menu) was Goulash or Meatloaf. Sides were Mashed potatoes, and Collard greens (again off menu). I had the Meatloaf, mashed potatoes and Collard Greens - wife had the small chicken fried steak tater tots and salad. The... More

I have been here numerous times in my 2 yrs in the area. It's out in the country by itself, leading to a relaxing atmosphere. Most of the food I have had there is very good! One of the servers is very attentive, some not so much. Their hominy casserole is just delicious as is their chicken and dumplings! I... More
