Spookie good food

With a name like Catfish Plantation what else would one have for dinner? I recommend the whole fish. They are a little smaller and a cooked evenly

We were traveling from Missouri to San Antonio and needed to stop for the night. We asked for a non-chain restaurant in the area. The Catfish Plantation was recommended. The menu starts with the story of this historic home and the hauntings. We were more interested in the food. The wine was generous. The catfish can be fried two different... More

My husband and I enjoyed visiting this unique restaurant, which is located just around the corner from the Chaska House Bed and Breakfast. I loved this restaurant. Everything from the historic old home it was housed in, to the 1940s music they played (a refreshing change from the music you ordinarily hear in restaurants), to the food was outstanding. Such... Catfish is king here. Waitress was really fun. Blackened catfish was the best but only by a little over the fried catfish.

While this is a haunted restaurant, what keeps me coming back is the food. The farm raised catfish is amazing you can get it cajun or cornmeal battered, the chicken fried steak is amazing, the fried pickles are to die for. the desserts awesome. The portions are huge.

Well the best fried pickles ever. Onion rings a close second. And the catfish is just right. Sides could use some work, some greens would be nice, but the focus is on fried and they do it right. They seem to be set up to make you wait for a seat. But our 20 minute wait time turned out to... More

My husband and me just happened upon this restaurant, and usually we have a good time when we find those middle of nowhere renovated from my house places. It totally sucks! It had all this hype about being this haunted restaurant, it was even featured on the discovery channel. Yet whenever we got him we had to sign her name,... More

We visited Catfish Plantation after a day of family photos in Waxahachie. It is located inside an old historic house which, as the story claims, is haunted. Since much of the house is neatly preserved and original, there isn't much room for large parties. They have a sign stating that parties over 12 will be split up because they aren't... More

We experienced the weirdest and unexplainable thing there...so the reputation is correct. The food though, didn't settle well with my family of 4. Was also expensive, but you are actually paying for the dining experience.

Stopped in after reviewing other reviews- NOT DISAPPOINTED! we had the catfish shrimp platter and it was amazing! Tasted fresh and extra yummy! We are so glad we found this place. Traveling through from Michigan going to our sons graduation this week at Lackland AFB, worth the short drive!
