The pork ribs are outstanding! Fall-off-the-bone-tender and delicious. No sauce needed. The sausage is pretty tasty, too. The sliced beef brisket was too dry and hard. My buddy really enjoyed the chopped beef sandwich. He said the sauce was super tasty. The staff is friendly and the facilities are clean. They are expanding by building a party room outback and... The food is great!! Fun atmosphere and friendly owners and staff! Love the live music on the patio on weekends. I will go back every chance I get.

I've been to three, local, non-franchise BBQ restaurants in two weeks. Each of them deserved the rating of 5 that I gave. At each restaurant, I had a sliced-brisket sandwich. The one I had at Pit Stop was the best tasting and most tender of them all. The pink smoke color was deep, and the taste was wonderful. There was... More

Traveling back home I came across this place which I had seen lots of reviews and decided to try a late supper, surely beat the cold sandwich at home. Tried the brisket, ribs, and beans. Brisket was ordinary, sauce was A+. Ribs were like I like them, juicy, tender, fell off the bone, had a little spicy kick but were... More

Their BBQ is better than a lot of BBQ restaurants that I've been to. It's better than Hard 8 BBQ in Coppell that receives a lot of positive reviews. The Pit stop truly smokes their meat. You can tell by the smoke ring on the sliced brisket. It's a leaner meat, which I prefer. However, it's still tender. They do... More

The owners have built another place from their original location. Always stop in on Friday from teaching. Staff is wonderful and friendly too. Always get the PG taters and always enjoyed them. Highly recommend.

I love the concept of using trailer/ boxcars as buildings for the restaurant. The atmosphere is fun. I enjoy the live music on weekends. As for the food, it needs improvement. They advertise they have competition style bbq. It boggles my mind that they serve up brisket sandwiches with very little meat. the meat to bun ratio is way off.... More

First - you drive along Hwy 287 & look for the flashing blue light - ne careful or you will drive past it. Believe me, it's worth turning around. Gravel parking and open air dining most of the time. You give your order at a window and find a table. If a band is warming up hurry and get a... More

Truly great BBQ, no mean feat in Texas, but it has to be the better places aroun. The chopped beef melts in your mouth, is dangerously juicy, so be careful, as you may be wearing or trying to remove remnants from your vehicle.
